I don't think I can afford to go some place that requires money to be spent next week anyway. I'm saving up for the TSO's Beethoven's Last Night concert out in Rockford, and since I don't have a car, I'm gonna have to rent out a hotel room for the night. I'm kinda severely rationing my money at this point, 'cause, damnit, I still haven't quite forgiven myself for missing it last year.

I'm saving up to go run around the woods and be a werewolf for a weekend. Huzzah for Wyalusing.

I take days off whenever I feel like it.

I just haven't felt like it in a while.

Also, where's the pic of me about to hammer people with a bike?

LARPing? I've always wanted to try LARPing, but 1), I never actively looked for a group to do so with, and 2), I heard that if you're a chick, guys are going to hit on you like mad.

My best friend does it. I'm just....not all that sure I would be into it. I'm more of a paintball/capture the flag/humans versus zombies kind of guy.

There was a group that hung around UIC by the blue line stop there (UIC Halsted, the lawn directly south of that) on Fridays at like 2 pm. I used to do that a little. Kept getting hit. In the stomach. In the testicles multiple times. Glasses fell off or i didnt wear them and I had shitty depth perception. I forgot their name and they probably dont meet there anymore at that time. They were a weeaboo (east asian) themed group.

Now I just fight with some peopleI know from the local college. We get NERF swords and hit people [each other] with them w/o the roleplay baggage.

from my limited experience that did not happen. of course i am male and this is my limited experience.

Just get friends and buy nerf swords or axes or guns and fight at the local park or at your house. If the people I know can do that so can you.

Technically what I do isnt LAR Ping, its just an excuse to hit people with foam swords. I wanted to splurge on money for that last meetup and bring foam swords for everyone, I wouldve brought my local "organizer guy" but he is well.......uncensored and I did not want a fight to happen on the grounds if he went into wrestler mode or his alter-ego and yeesh.....especially as people would probably think I did it for the lulz and ban me

he thinks anime is "gay" but plays Yu-Gi-Oh and watches the Adridged Series. Among other things

EDIT: speaking of that I remember the mods and admins writing down our names there, probably to ban us all!

I LARP all the time in Chicago. I haven't had issues with guys hitting on me uncontrollably, but I've also noticed that a lot of the guys in my gaming circle aren't all that interested in the fairer sex. It also helps that they're a lot of women around. Having a fairly even gender balance makes a big difference.

I don't boffer LARP though. I do MET.

The Various groups that are involved in LARPing and table top groups have much larger female demographics then they used to.

Although, when talking to a group of a gamers living in the Tech dorms on UNO campus, mentioning I have had multiple girl friends and was in the military got me some interesting looks.

So some of that is still there just not quite as bad as used to be.

That has to suck. My mother has that allergy on scale so bad that she problems with rooms with carpet and rooms painted with latex paint.

Heh. I have yet to meet a group of gamers that has "normal" people.

I have. It consisted of the programmers of my college, and they were thoroughly awful to be around.

My roommate was the worst. Him playing Blackops was equivalent to rattling off a list of racist and homophobic epithets in a whiny voice more suited to a 12 year old, punctuated by angry shouting at noobtubers.

Thank god I moved home, one more night of that and I would've punched him in his arrogant face.

One of these days, he'll start some insults and ill overwhelm his shitty 'rhetoric' and back it up with my umbrella shoved up his ass or a hairpick sticking out his neck if he provokes shit. Assuming he doesnt back down if I aggressively shut his shit down. Though given past border spats he likes sniping. OF course in those past battles I havent exactly decisively defeated him. If it wasnt for assault charges or w/e I couldve postured and 'referenced' those sorts of threats already.

Oh well. If I cant get him IRL I can get his ass online xD

A lot of gamers are horrible, sad, anti-social people who like to be around other people regardless. Sadly, the same is true of a lot of metalheads. Sadly, I love both games and metal, but every time I think I'm talking to people who share my interests, it's like throwing a bone to a pack of elitist, bigoted dogs who will just as soon eat you as talk with you.

Bad analogy, but there you go.

Also, I lost my voice. Calling me would probably be a bad idea.
