Well, assuming the rest is as faithful as the prologue (this first bit is effectively prologue to the arc proper), then it only gets better from here. I'm... kinda dreading Battle Tendency (Part 2), though. Nothing against it on a story perspective, its just very, very muscly. No worse than DBZ at its loudest, I suppose, but still...

It makes just enough sense to fit in Jojo without me questioning it. Really, the less I question Jojo overall, the more I enjoy it.
I mean, if I think about the ending of Part 6 at all, I start to pick it apart, and it loses its effect.
...
If the sons of Dio were drawn to that place, then where the hell was Gio Gio, and why didn't Jotaro call him in to stop dude? You'd think having an absolute power like Gold Experience Requiem (which wore off, but would be easy enough to redo) would be kinda handy for a situation like that. Though that seems more like a situation like with the poison fist guy where he couldn't be brought back simply because it was too hard to put their powers on the same level as others'. Plus, it wouldn't have been very satisfying to have two big bads killed off the same way.

When I read Part 3 of Jojo's, I noticed the author's tendency to infodump things, such as the rules of poker, for example.
I then thought of similar infodumps I've seen in Silver Age Superhero comics - and I realized that was it. Jojo is a Bloodier and Gorier silver age superhero comic.
On the plus side, I learned a lot about foreign haggling! It will be useful in the rather unlikely event that I go to the countries depicted. Assuming, of course, that it's true and not Silver Agey falseness.
That last sentence sounded a lot better in my head.
"What's out there? What's waiting for me?"I'm watching it and did Dio's father just call his wife a cunt?
Observation: Dio shares many parallels with Loki.
Observation 2: Jonathan is such a... this goes beyond Knight Errant... I don't know what that is, besides the cutest, most adorable Narm I've ever seen. I mean, he carved a heart into a tree, isn't he precious?
Whatever that is, he's also a Woobie and really deserves a hug,

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Dio's Dad is an ass.
Dio is also an ass (Albeit 100 times worse).
With the exception of Giorna, who appears later (And even he has his moments sometimes), the assholish-ness runs in the Brando family.

That's because it wasn't in the subs, but in the japanese. He called her a mankei.
I'm really enjoying the Black-and-White Morality. The good guys are very good, the bad guys are very bad, and it overall feels like a... like a... ah, that's right:
The Black-and-White Morality doesn't stay too perfect, as later arcs end up with Defeat Means Friendship as the primary means of gaining allies in the beginning. Hell, Part 2 even has Nazis counted among the protagonists by the end of it. The Big Bad of each arc is usually a Complete Monster, though (Part 7 is the exception), so at least that stays constant.
Yeah, Dio is such an asshole it defies comprehension. I mean, at some points he seems to be making sense and I start to understand him, but then he goes and does something irrationally evil...
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

Speaking as a guy who only had contact with Jojo's indirectly via Memetic Mutation and Sakuya (but have always been flirting with the idea of reading it, howerver I'm very lazy about manga), I can say that the anime looks pretty promising, specially for me on the "gateway to a franchise" department also, the written out sound-effects and Roundabout as ED are a nice touch. All in all, a welcome change of pace for today's anime market that is so overrun with moe series these days

There's no Part 1, I just thought it was funny at the time.
