I say People Sit On Chairs should have another picture. Preferably it should show a similar scene, but with an irrelevant element being different. That irrelevant element would be People Sit On Chairs, while the actual events of the scenes being shown would be the proper trope. It might need some text added to point this out, but it would show that it's the irrelevancy that makes something People Sit On Chairs, not how common it is.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Cut the picture for People Sit On Chairs, definitely.
My suggestion for People Sit On Chairs would be... a shot of people sitting on chairs, preferably from a really famous work like Citizen Kane, or Gone With The Wind, or Star Wars. Caption could be "The Most Triumphant Example".
Oh man, that would be the perfect snark for this. How about the following:

I like that. A few Most Triumphant Example possibilities:
- Casablanca
◊
- Gone With the Wind
◊
- Godfather - Michael
◊
- Godfather - Vito Action Figure with official Chair accessory!
◊
- The Maltese Falcon
◊
- Dr. Strangelove
◊
- Snow White (partially averted)

Jet-a-Reeno!I kinda like the Star Wars one because it's obvious that the chairs are not the focal point of the picture; it emphasizes the "there's really no reason to even note this" aspect of the trope.
Reaction Image Repository^I can go with that.
Also, here's the best non-watermarked GIS picture I could find of people objectively sitting in chairs
◊ being the the focal point of the entire picture and still managing to be entirely uninteresting.
So many good pictures here, the hard part is choosing one.
My favourite is probably the first Godfather one, though I really like the Star Wars and Gone With The Wind ones too. (And the Snow White link doesn't work for me.)
Hmm, not sure why that would be. The Snow White image isn't one of the better ones, in any case.
Jet-a-Reeno!Just the picture alone is Just A Face And A Caption, especially calling it something subjective like the Most Triumphant Example.
This is what I meant earlier (a rough draft though), to show which is the trope and which isn't:

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.^Technically Our Graphics Will Suck in the Future is the trope.

I think that's kind of the point, to show how ridiculous the idea is by trying to show it as a trope when it's obviously completely irrelevant.
Although granted, it isn't entirely clear that way, so your idea works fine.

No, I think you had it right the first time. At the risk of ruining the joke, the idea most of us are talking about is to pretend for the sake of humor to treat People Sit On Chairs as if it was a "real" trope that tropers would get all excited and argumentative about, and argue about its Most Triumphant Example. (And, probably, have huge Edit Wars about how Triumphant it really is, but we don't need to carry the joke that far.)
Yeah, I know, I was just explaining my reasoning. I just find the idea of using the picture in an attempt to present it as an actual trope to be hilarious.
Reaction Image RepositoryI think Sean's suggestion
◊ is by far the most dorky illustration of People Sit On Chairs, but sue's are from media and therefore more appropriate for TV Tropes.
Yes, but an image of people sitting on chairs would drive home just how pointless these kinds of attempted tropes are.
Reaction Image RepositoryThis...
◊ with the caption:
Tropes: Cool Chair, Slouch of Villainy, Damn, It Feels Good to Be a Gangster!
Not A Trope: Sitting In A Chair
