As far as the latest few posts could reveal...
Something along the lines of that guy ranting about how Excuse Plot game's don't exist anymore.
And when pointed out that they still exist. He narrows it down to multiplayer games.
And when pointed that they still exist. He demands to have examples of "old competetive multiplayer games with good plots" for some reason.
And when pointed out that THOSE exist also, he just Ass Pull ed why those don't work either(apparently it doesn't count if they have Single Player Campaigns along with multiplayer matches).

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."And so, yet another topic thread has gone to the dogs. Awesome job, fellas. Seriously.
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.^^It's the Weekly Tribute to the Derailment Gods.
BACK ON TRACK: I once avoided First-Person Shooters like the plague back when I was younger and more foolish. I have revised my stance ever since I got the Orange Box.

To be fair, this wasn't going to really go anywhere. How many actual lame reasons are there really for feeling a certain way about a game before you hit the one that starts...well...this?
I, for one, welcome our purplish Australian mammal masters, and invite them to share their baffling logic ways with us all.
"People are calling me stupid on the internet."Oh yeah, lame excuses for not wanting to like a game...howabout bad games being named Taliban
?
Or because they featured violence against children?
Or because they think the game promoted anti-semitism, racism, animal cruelty, paganism, etc. etc.?
Goddammnit, I wanted to pothole other websites for pokemon...but I can only do the google search of "Pokemon Controversy".

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."@ Signed: No, I said they were almost extinct. You then ignored the qualifier. I then pointed out why its countrerproductive for multiplayer to have a plot. I then pointed out the good stories in Warcraft and Starcraft were in the single player campaigns, not the multiplayer campaigns.
Also, for the Taliban, hardly seems like a reason if they weren't going to play the game anyway.

You would think the derailment gods would be stuffed with all the derailed threads on the internet at the moment.

I don't recall any Australian animals being purple bar the Tasmanian Devil I saw at the Zoo that ripped apart a Grape Juice box that fell in the enclosure

I'm having to learn to pay the priceI unno, I'm watching Sora No Otoshimono and occasionally checking this out. So I'm not losing any of my time. Besides, Gods are never fully satisfied. Just look at how much illegitimate sons Zeus have...you'd think he'd be satisfied with Hera.
And the quantifier "almost" is pretty ineffective when there are still plenty of games that have Excuse Plots out there. Unless you want to further narrow down what qualifies.

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."What's this? Everyone's arguing with Indigo Dingo in a Video Games thread? Color me surprised!
Also, I assume I must be insane, since my first Final Fantasy game was X, and VIII is one of my favorites. My first video game was Spyro and I absolutely love Tetris and Dig-Dug, and I think old 2D games with beepy music have a sort of charm to them other games lack. That's right— I'm liking old games without a Nostalgia filter— THERE MUST BE SOMETHING WRONG WITH ME!
Oh, yeah, and back on topic: Bioshock is sexist
My friend went off at me about Starcraft 2 being sexist. I tried to explain that all of his examples were stupid and blown out of proportion and at worst just harmless fanservice. At which point he then told me "You're not seeing it, cause you're not a feminist like I am" and then I burst out laughing which for some reason made me end up losing the argument.
I also have a distatste for these ones
Hype Backlash as an excuse: Different from It's Popular, So It Sucks! in that someone likes a game, but not to the extent it's hyped up as, so they claim it completely sucks. Not to be confused with my sentiment "Halo Reach is ok, but not worth the hype it gets.", it's more "Halo Reach is not worth the hype is gets therefore it sucks".
It's Cheap, So It Sucks: Exactly What It Says on the Tin, like my friend's complaints about Moday Night Combat really being this.
Curse the ill fortune that led you to me.Few pages ago:
Please?
I wish I made that up. But no, XI wasn't even out at the time and I asked if he'd played Final Fantasy X. He hadn't. Because in his words "I hated it when the series went online." So on top of having a bizarre excuse for not liking the game, he also refused to PLAY it .
This guy is a very special person. For example around the same time, he also expressed hatred at Funimation for making "Hollywood Mew Mew."
He... Hates Final Fantasy X, a game that was made before the first online Final Fantasy simply because the game released after it was an MMO?
I seem to have missed the sense in that arguement, care to point it for me?
Sonic hates SOPAThere is at least one thing wrong with that guy's statement.
"It ain't about whether you win or lose, unless you got money on the game, because...damn. That's your money, son.""I hate The Legend Of Zelda because all you do is walk around."
It can only be called fate. That here. I would again gather the three with the crests. That I should lay my hand on that which grants the wishes of the beholder. That when power, wisdom, and courage come together, the gods would have no choice but to come down.My brother refuses to try Final Fantasy V because it has primitive graphics.
Both of us grew up playing Megadrive and SNES games.
I seem to have missed the sense in that arguement, care to point it for me?
I think he believed it too was an MMO and I couldn't actually talk him out of it. For all I know (it's been awhile since we've talked), he still believes that.

^Indigo Dingo thinks old games are shit. ALL HAIL THE NEW POLYGONS.
EDIT: I'd like to add that it's no small surprise to me that people actually still mod games made back when WON was around.
