The thing with the inferno grenade is that the radius is farking huge. 5m at base, and you can increase that by 70%. It doesn't do all that much damage at base(100 damage? Sticky grenades did 600 at base!) but you can easily hit 6+ guys with it.
I'm just not sure what that the final level means when it say "Increases shrapnel by 1 fragment"
XP granted for befriending a giant magical spider! The demo does have an option that's on by default to send metrics to Bioware, so they may be tweaking numbers before release.
"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." Twitterso, i was playing my krogan soldier, and I got in a match with another krogan soldier. Only, this krogan soldier was using a sniper rifle.
I kept thinking to myself, "ur doing it wrong!1!"
XP granted for befriending a giant magical spider!Still too heavy.
The metagame right now is focused solely on powers, and the faster you use your powers, the better.
So, it really doesn't compensate to use it, even though it pains me to say so.

it really depends on the class. For, say, an adept or engineer, weapons are secondary, you're all about supporting with your powers. But if you're talking Sentinel or Soldier, then weapons take priority.

XP granted for befriending a giant magical spider! They were probably compensating for something. It's best not to think on it.

Disagree. My Mantis infiltrator does just fine. Cloak, headshot, rinse, repeat. Cloak and rez, cloak and hack objectives.
Powers are the bomb though so I only carry one weapon for any class. Mattock X for Engineers and Sentinels, Phalanx VIII for my Adepts, Katana VII for my vanguards and krogan Soldiers, Mantis IX for my Infiltrator. Finally unlocked a Revenant I for my human Soldier last night but I need to level it as it is a bit crap at the moment.
"You want to see how a human dies? At ramming speed." - Emily Wong. The Revenant is not really worth it, even with accuracy and stability boosters. It weighs a ton and, while it is powerful, it takes a while to actually kill stronger targets, leaving you exposed for a large amount of time, and slows you down while you fire it. It also has a ton of recoil (once again, even with a high level stability enhancer), is hard to use on moving targets (*cough*Phantoms*cough*) and overall I'd recommend packing a modded Mattock X instead. Haven't tried the high level versions of the Revenant yet, maybe they're better.

...Yeah Mattock X is my favourite gun right now. Agree on the low-level Revenant. I get away with it on the soldier because he doesn't have great powers but definitely its not ideal. Shame.
Fake was rocking a vanguard with a pistol in our game last night. Loved it. Charge, nova, charge right.
"You want to see how a human dies? At ramming speed." - Emily Wong.My krogan soldier rocks a shotgun and a phalanx, just so I can do something if I absolutely cannot enter melee range for some reason.
and I really can't decide between Katana or Scimitar for the shotty, though I also don't think it's too big a difference.

XP granted for befriending a giant magical spider! With the inclusion of scopes for other weapons, I'm not sure what niche the viper fills anymore besides 'light sniper'

You'd think that Inferno Grenades would be effective against Guardians if thrown behind them, but they're not. I still don't know what the point of them are.
