It takes a while, but it ain't that hard.
I've finally gotten into the groove of being a Infiltrator in multiplayer. Cloak is just the best thing ever, especially when you've got other players to build aggro after you suddenly disappear.
Cryo Blast is also very fun. For a flanked Guardian, it's a death sentence.
It kinda makes me sad that Infiltrator only has incinerate in singleplayer mode.
Umbran Climax◊I think one of the main reasons I can't do vanguard is because '1' is my panic button.
Also I totally cloak and sprint and backstab all the time. I am pretty sure everyone hates me for it since I end up dying instantly.
"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." TwitterThat's because you are doing it wrong.
You should do it with a shotgun.
cloak sucks. the enemy units can still see you and if you go in for a backstab, they'll melee you first.
vanguard, however, is god mode. equip pistol, get insane cooldown bonus. charge, shoot, charge, shoot, repeat until time for extraction.
hey ch00bs, are you Blissey1?

"Teebs is a total grump, but he's usually right." - NLKCloak works best as an escape, a way to perform a hacking or rezzing with no interference, a damage bonus for sniping, or flanking from at least mid-range.
Backstabbing is a no-no unless you know what you're doing.

Umbran Climax◊Backstabbing is great, but it only works if you have a quick escape route. If you get trapped behind enemy lines after killing a Guardian and his buddies show up, you're in a bad way.
However, if you stick with your squad and flank the enemy, you can sprint back into the protection of your squad mates.
Or So I'veHeard.
Can I help you?
I recently started playing an Infiltrator of my own. I've tried backstabbing via shotgun followed by a heavy melee, and I've had equal amounts success and failure. Most notably, it seem to work like a charm on phantoms, at least on bronze. Shotgun from cloak takes out their barriers, heavy melee finished them off.
XP granted for befriending a giant magical spider!See, that requires lugging around a shotgun though, sending the recharge time on powers through the roof.
XP granted for befriending a giant magical spider!Yeah, cloaking is for repositioning, not really straight offense like charge. Sometimes, though, you end up repositioning behind someone and you are morally obligated to stab them.
"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." TwitterToo slow for me. I only carry a Phalanx and my powers recharge in around 2 seconds.
XP granted for befriending a giant magical spider!Infiltrator? Mantis and cloak, repeat till everyone's dead of headshots. Atlases will go down in maybe 6 Mantis shots (depending on what level Mantis you have). If this is what the Mantis is like, Widow must be so much overkill.
Cleared bronze with just another player last night. That was fun. Been playing engineer a lot (both quarian and human). Just carry a modded Mattock X. Both the drone and flamethrower turret are fricking fantastic, but the human engineer shades the quarian because cryo is kinda crap and overload is made of win and awesome.
"You want to see how a human dies? At ramming speed." - Emily Wong.Widow is total overkill. It goes right through the Guardian's shields, for example. But it is slow and heavy as hell.
Overload is pretty much the only reason I play Engineer. One level six Overload will take down the shields of a Phantom, Centurion, Nemesis, or Turret, and also stun them, which sets them up for a shotgun blast.
I'm still wondering if the Revenant with a scope and stability enhancer is a worthy weapon for the soldier.

...

God damn it. I am disappointed, Bio Ware.
Took the words right out of my mouth.
I'm finding the AI and abilities of the enemies actually quite tough to get used to this time around. They're actually quite intelligent and quite ruthless.
