I mostly play Shepard how I would do it if I was in that position. 9 times out of 10, that's Paragon. However, I did play him as a bit more of a dick in the second game, especially during Garrus and Thane's Loyalty Missions. I didn't take the Paragon interrupt to warn Garrus' target, letting him get killed, and during Thane's, I attacked the guy we were interrogating. Twice. I also killed that one krogan with the Renegade interrupt during Mordin's Loyalty Mission. And I also blew up the geth during Legion's mission.

I thought everybody took the Renegade Interrupt on Mordin's loyalty mission.
Support Gravitaz on Kickstarter!I had my Shepard wait until the thing about slavery. I sort of consider it a Berserk Button of his, due to the Colonist background.

I use the Renegade interrupt only because the fight is that much harder when you don't do it.
I also use the Renegade interrupt on Archangel recruitment. "You're working too hard" BZZZZZZZZZZZZZT!

Apparently, doing that will get you an achievement
in the full version.
So I've noticed Atlases (Altasi?) are more just annoying rather than difficult. Really, the only thing they have is a lot of HP. They're incredibly slow, so you can always run away if you need to without much fear of them getting to you before you're ready, their weapons are fairly pathetic (unless you get within melee range), and they're HUGE targets. I'm generally more worried about standard Mooks than Atlases.
My favorite way to kill Guardians is flank Throw them while they face my teammate. So satisfying.
Support Gravitaz on Kickstarter!Atlas mechs can EASILY chew you up with that cannon on their arm, it's just that it has trouble fighting four people at once. Several Atlas mechs are dangerous beyond measure. However, their main role is still distraction so Centurions can flank you. The Atlas mechs also have smoke grenade launchers, which is also very annoying and helps disguise the infantry, but not them, since if you blindfire into the smoke you'll still hit them.
I find throwing a frag grenade to perfectly take out three Guardians more satisfying than just one.

...Concussive Shot? Useless? Not by a long shot. It's especially invaluable when fighting Phantoms after you bring their barriers down, since the shot is guaranteed to hit the Phantom as long as it is targeted, so no amount of flipping around and cloaking will save it. Then you can finish off the Phantom while it is on the ground.
Plus, Concussive Shot is also useful for temporarily taking an unshielded enemy out of fight (since once again, it's almost impossible to miss with it since it is so fast and homing) or keeping an enemy from getting away. It can also stagger Guardians, letting you fill them with bullets.

...Oh no, you misunderstood. Concussive Shot is VERY useful (as well as very amusing). Some of its upgrades are useless in multiplayer, though. Shatter is only useful if an enemy is frozen (which rarely happens unless you're carrying Cyro Ammo), and Power Concussive Shot does nothing unless you have an ammo power. Which you can't regularly have in MP.
It's easiest to kill them with an engineer. Throw a drone behind them, they will turn around to target it 100% of the time. You can now kill them however you please.
XP granted for befriending a giant magical spider!

Well, from the Council's point of view that act of genocide was directed against the setting's resident ravening bug swarm; it was worth scolding him but no more. The colonists on Feros were technically a threat; even if the Renegade option is to blatantly ignore the non-lethal solution. The only people who know about CDS Shepard intentionally offing the Council are Udina and Anderson.
The other things you list... taking Saren as an example that's just what Spectres are allowed to do.
