A lot of people seem to mistake it for a fighting religious type, rather than a reveal that the character you would least expect to be is religious.

I'm the trope's creator, no one came up with a better name during YKTTW.

Then you misnamed it. Don't use bruiser unless you want it associated with combat.

Hell, even after reading the article, I still thought it was about religious guys who fight. I mean, one of the first examples is Father Anderson from Hellsing. They dont come much fightier than a superhuman priest who's also Irish. Or Scottish. Meh.

Religious Reveal? Short, fairly clear and with Added Alliterative Appeal. The only possible problem would be that it could be mistaken for a character being revealed to be Jesus in Purgatory.
