The point of this thread is to list your favorite tropers and say what makes you like them so much. Please be specific; we already have Gushing About Shows You Like if you want to gush about TV Tropes or the Forums in general.
EDIT: Chopped the list because it's now quite outdated, and there are some comments in here that only made sense back in 2009 and may have even been a bit creepy.

Tongpu is not really a sociopath, he simply sees the world in an over the top cynical way. That his personal preferences are morally reprehensible doesn't really figure in here, if it really were like that, most of us could be considered sociopaths.

I wouldn't want him in my house - if he is as sociopathic as he claims, which I sincerely doubt - but he makes good, sensible points and doesn't fly off the handle or otherwise annoy me in debates. Except for the double standard thing, but whatever.
