Gush About Tropers You Like

Go To

(I'm not sure where this really belongs, so I'm putting it in YF for now. Mods, feel free to move it to Forum Games if you think it fits better there.)

The point of this thread is to list your favorite tropers and say what makes you like them so much. Please be specific; we already have Gushing About Shows You Like if you want to gush about TV Tropes or the Forums in general.

EDIT: Chopped the list because it's now quite outdated, and there are some comments in here that only made sense back in 2009 and may have even been a bit creepy.

Then find something you can do. It doesn't matter what it is. Maybe you could just be kind. Maybe you could look at your opinions on the world. Whatever it is, find it and build on it.

Here, we're all generic carbon-based humanoid lifeforms (I think) with a love for fiction. Find the fiction that's your passion, and go from there.

Quite honestly, I feel the same way as Meeble. I'm not witty, or that great of a writer, or fun to be around, or all that snarky, or all that funny, or very helpful, and I can't even find time to post regularly. I'm just... generic.
You can go the easy way and find some sort of shtick and then Flanderize yourself into it. you will become memorable quickly and can even tone it down after a while.

You could also go the hard way, and invest an inordinate amount of time here and post your every single thought (with measure, of course). It wouldn't take long for people to remember you.

Finally, you can stop caring all together. The difficulty of this varies depending on the person.

Thanks, Cliche. Coming from you that is quite a compliment! ^^;;;

I do feel a bit better knowing that I'm not the only one who has felt that way, though. Maybe we should start a support group or something. wink

Nothing wrong with being generic and vanilla, it's better than being some strange freak nobody wants to talk to.

Well, on this forum, you're far from generic and vanilla.

I like genericness.

I'd like people, if they can't remember me for being interesting, then to remember me for being uninteresting, a la the interesting number paradox.

Also, since I'm posting here, I will generically gush about Tzetze.

Bobby G is me, Tzetze is my best friend in the whole wide world, and Norn is my idol.

None of these statements is technically true, of course, but it's the meaning behind the exaggerations that is important.

No one needs to put up with Solstace either. We enjoy having him around. smile
