Gush About Tropers You Like

Go To

(I'm not sure where this really belongs, so I'm putting it in YF for now. Mods, feel free to move it to Forum Games if you think it fits better there.)

The point of this thread is to list your favorite tropers and say what makes you like them so much. Please be specific; we already have Gushing About Shows You Like if you want to gush about TV Tropes or the Forums in general.

EDIT: Chopped the list because it's now quite outdated, and there are some comments in here that only made sense back in 2009 and may have even been a bit creepy.

Nope. I ain't a superhero. I'm too busy ruining other people's lives for fun or unintentionally. ^___^;

It's not exactly naive. And it can happen. But it's tough. And definetly worthwhile.

The Doctor has at least as much right to be called a superhero as Batman and Sherlock Holmes do.

Well, the Doctor is a sort of superhero. He's pretty much an Alien!Sherlock Holmes meet Batman with a touch of Superman

But he ain't my favorite superhero. Or hero, for that matter. He's my favorite protagonist, though.

It's not exactly naive. And it can happen. But it's tough. And definetly worthwhile.

I tend to limit my definition of "super-hero" to heroic characters with superpowers, including artificial, technological ones, that started off in comics. So, Sherlock doesn't qualify there.

Wheee, idionsyoncratic definitions~

anyway, sherlock holmes does qualify as a superhero. Hyperintelligent, capable in all forms of combat and published in a serialized format that is pretty much like comics but before sequential art was actually created.

He's pretty much Batman without the need for gadgets named after him. And let's face it, the "Shercar" is a horrible name.

It's not exactly naive. And it can happen. But it's tough. And definetly worthwhile.

He was a god. the point of this season finale was precisely getting rid of that aspect of the character.

Thanks, cute! Here's a counter-gush - you're pretty cool, too.

Dunno why, but I've always associated the word superhero strictly with comic-book characters. I know that the category is wider, but... hell, I don't know.
