What interesting things have you only recently learned about?
To be clear, this is about things which have been true for some time and you only recently learned about, not things that only happened recently. In particular, recent deaths of celebrities and other high-profile individuals should go in the General RIP Thread
.
So, what interesting things have you guys...and gals...only recently learned about?

You’re going to make a lot of people say “I WAS FROZEN TODAY!”
They may need to chill out. :p
Apparently, "decimation" has a correct definition, namely "remove one tenth of the population". "Can you even read the blackboard written clear as can be?" / "Can you even read his mind? See that kid's lost fantasy?"
The title of Kill Bill is quite literal. The main character literally wants to kill a guy named Bill.

Punch-Out!! Wii has Piston Hondo reading a Sailor Moon manga, as in a scan from the actual manga (though with some panels switched around). It allegedly cost Nintendo and Next Level games millions

The thing about the fines is completely false, though. Three years ago, I did an extensive research on the subject and found nothing aside from a Youtube video which was likely the source of this rumor. Reminds me of all the rumours claiming Naoko Takeuchi was a struggling artist before making it big with Sailor Moon... except that, from what I heard, she already made several successful manga prior to SM.
Then again, I've never really heard of any of her non-Sailor Moon stuff... wait, what else did she work on?
Edit: Huh, so she mostly did
smaller works like Chocolate Christmas and The Cherry Project. Consider that my "didn't know until recently" post.

The Cherry Project is the only other non Sailor thing we have a page on?
- No Export for You: Likely due to Naoko Takeuchi's resistance to license her work overseas.
I guess that's why we dunno of the rest of her oeuvre.

Tbh I never really hated his minigames in the original, but they did make them better in the remake. After Mindy Cohn quit playing Velma Kate Mccuchi (which I am definitely spelling wrong) also known as Webby from the Duck Tales reboot and Jack Black's therapist in the 2011 Muppets Movie (that is not a joke) took over.

The song "Nothing Breaks Like a Heart" was sung by Miley Cyrus, but she's not the primary artist (That's Mark Ronson). Also, according to Wikipedia, the song belongs to the genre of "Country-Disco", which I just learned is a thing.
