That's only because the kind of parents that would do that are so horrible, that getting away from them is bound to be an improvement.
Although not always right away. Roasted potatoes will never taste the same again.
No, I mean, look at our three examples. Hayate is a superhuman butler employed by someone with limitless money that will never, ever fire him. Or she did, but still. Is also a chick magnet. Hinagiku lives comfortably, everyone loves her, good at everything. New girl is apparently as talented as Hayate only without his bad luck. It's like being abandoned just makes you awesome automatically.
Even Athena seems to be an example and she's also in the ridiculously perfect tier.

It's intentional Parody Sue if it makes you feel any better. Probably not.
I'm an idiot.

More like:
Parents don't do their job, so kids got to step up or die.
We don't hear about the ones that die. Usually.
Also, Nagi is no longer in possession of limitless money.
Money wasn't the butt of the joke a hell of a lot in S1, The Amusement park was her grandfather's gift.
S2 it hardly showed up at all as they went straight for the Rom Com and got rid of almost everything that wasn't that.
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!...Meh. We're heading into one of those plots? Say it aint so! And the crossdressing thing still isn't funny to me.
"Those" plots? Which one is that?
'reads chapter'
Oh, I see. At any rate the author is putting a more serious spin on the whole cross-dressing thing with Luca, so it might not just be "Hayate is dressed as a girl, again!" style joke.
Also, I just read on the Other Wiki that Fumi will be the next student council president after Hinagiku. My response is "wut?"

#IceBearForPresidentWe are caught up. Dunno the validity of the statement, but here's the line in question from the Other Wiki;
According to the author, she is the future student council president of Hakuou, succeeding Hinagiku.

#IceBearForPresidentYou know, I'm going to work under the assumption that Luca already knows Hayate is a guy. It'll make that plot type more interesting.

"oh shit I have a huge debt and my parents are gone"
If people learned from their mistakes, there wouldn't be this thing called bad habits.
