But theres nothing to brag about if you just achieved something difficult...bragging rights is when you do something crazy obsessively daunting...for the sake of bragging about whatever it is you did.
"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."Third and fourth endings require all weapons, from what I've heard, so no, it's not just bragging rights.
Sakamoto demands an explanation for this shit.Yeah, but they don't have to be upgraded, thankfully.
That's just if you want the three Achievements.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Speaking of which, I am rather hoping that this game doesn't pull a Drakengard on us with the final ending, considering what you have to do and what happens as a result of said ending.
Sakamoto demands an explanation for this shit.Maybe actually give you a chance at getting a happy ending?
Proud member of the IAA What's the point of being grown up if you can't act childish?Cavia? Happy ending? lololololololololol
i. hear. a. sound.I like Nier, though I have to force myself into pretending it's an Xbox 1 game.
Jonah Falcon^ If someone can explain why this keeps getting said, with evident screenshots and/or video footage in a decent resolution, I'd be much grateful. So far, comparing the visuals of this game to, say, Brutal Legend, I just can't see the "This looks like a late generation XBox / PS2 game" thing. The visual effects in use are beyond the PS2's abilities, as is the draw distance in wide open areas.
Sakamoto demands an explanation for this shit.I think it's the general reaction to the renders not being detailed enough to see Kaine's package.
i. hear. a. sound.*snicker*

Proud member of the IAA What's the point of being grown up if you can't act childish? The visuals scream "last gen port".
Jonah Falcon^ Why? What, specifically, about them do so?

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."Repetition of point with no evidence. Rather pointless. There is no way the last generation could have handled this game.
Sakamoto demands an explanation for this shit.I think it's because while it IS up to par, it does not PASS par like most games, which is pretty silly because unless you X3000 ZOOM like most nitpickers you're not going to see this one texture at perfect resolution or this one structure was the same as the last structure.
I know this is probably going to shock folks who aren't spoiler hounds (which, considering where this thread is in the internet, is maybe two of you at most), but I went and read up on the links between Drakengard and Nier.
One, to a great extent I'm glad I haven't played Drakengard. It's very much not my kind of game, and the plotline leaves much to be desired. Two, after reading up on the supplementary material, I think I can safely ignore it. I'm told 90% of it never shows up in Nier, and some of it directly contradicts what I already know is stated in game. Stating more of my reasons for rejecting the links would require spoilers, and they're a lot harder to avoid accidentally reading on the forums.
Sakamoto demands an explanation for this shit. But it's still incredibly fun to read, I think. But I'm just that type of person. I love to know what stuff was going on in a writer's head as they were worldbuilding. Yeah, 90% doesn't show up in the game. But it's an entertaining 90%.
Also, Drakengard was a horrible game to play. Seriously. So don't. But it makes a fantastic Let's Play.

i. hear. a. sound. That's actually what I was reading :p Followed closely by the translation of the supplementary material.
The dev team are nuts. But it still feels like they made something neat with Nier, or at the very least they made awesome music. I may cave and actually try to play this on my old standard-def TV within the week...
Sakamoto demands an explanation for this shit.Speaking of this game, some anonymous vandal using multiple I Ps has been trying to complain about the western version for months by trying to put down a Nattery Complaining About Shows You Dont Like entry on the Gonk page.
Sounds like Signed to me.
the future we had hoped foroi, my only complaint is the absolute lack of ability to choose characters..............................and the weird in-game model, especially when he jumps.
Besides, I can't edit anymore.
PS-that said, I DO blame the idiots in Los Angelus for the whole mess. And I won't hide the fact that the youngNier looks much better than oldNier.
I wonder why Kaine remained unchanged.

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."No reason to change her. She fits in both versions of the story.
I think I've figured out why Father Nier looks so odd when he jumps, though. His jumping animation would look fine for someone with a much more wiry frame (at least from the back and from above it looks "okay") but for someone with as much muscle mass as he's picked up, it looks weird. I figure they changed the model but left many of the animations nearly identical.
As a note, I consider Father Nier to be sort of the Orca version, whereas Brother Nier is more like a Kite.

Sakamoto demands an explanation for this shit.I guess Kaine fits both western and eastern tastes.
...no idea who either Orca or Kite is. Kite is the name of a hentai with plot shoe-horned in. Orca is some whale.
Never thought about the jump animation like that though, it just looks really weird whenever I did it...I guess that does sorta prove that the younger one came first....sorta. But if that really was the case, they shouldn't have been so lazy to not give him a new jump animation.
Too bad I didn't have enough time to even beat the game.

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."
DIFFICULT to get is fine. 1-in-ridiculous drops aren't hard to get; they're just time-consuming to get.
There is nothing difficult about killing the same mook fifty times.
