Not just animals. We've done the same thing to our crops as well, with the same downsides. But hey, at least we have yellow bananas amirite?
I'm starting to wonder if Beepatrice is actually qualified for her job.
If this is a recurring issue for her (and judging by her coworker's comment it is) then maybe she isn't qualified.
It's a volunteer work and that's just a bit of social awkwardness. Not a big deal.
Is this the first time we're seeing another AnthroPC? Like, every other robot was simply an AI machine or humanoid/animal robot, but this is the first time in my memory we're seeing one that has Pintsize's chassis type.
It's the first time in a while, but they were all over the place back in the day. A robot without Pintsize's body shape was the exception.
Pintsize used to have friends. I donít remember if we saw any others with his specific generic design, but Winslow and Momo both started out as AnthroPC alternate designs before switching to more humanoid bodies, and there used to be a Linuxbot who popped up once in a while too.
This may be the first strip with Pintsize-type robots. I'm trying to find the one with the LANPark that the top screencap on this article is from.
Ah yeah, I forgot about them. Mostly because it's been an age and a half since we've last seen any other AnthroPCs and even Pintsize gets much less screentime these days.
I distinctly remember a Pintsized AnthroPC with a heat sink for a beard, but that was around the earlier years of the comic.
Yeah he was a walking gag of Linux and Communism.
Roko is a Tinman Typist by personal preference. Conspiracy theories aside, I don't really understand why any robot wouldn't just plug into their workstation, but hey.
I assume for Roko it's about bodily identification.
Could Nelson be the anthroPC Pintsize had a date with without knowing he was male?
...It's a lot of wishful thinking on my part considering that one was depicted as hot pink vis a vis Nelson's much lighter.
Pintsize's icon is a bit brighter blue than his real life colour as well, so it isn't completely out of the realm of possibility. It is also possible that if Nelson is utilizing the same chassis, the colour could've worn out and faded.
Of course, it's far more likely that these two are completely separate one-off characters and that Jacques doesn't even remember the existence of the former.
"Pink" isn't enough of an identifier, yes. Though dapper gentleman and perennial employee of the month getting to fun e-sex on his free time is a fun concept.
Based on the effort put into this new setting, I assume Renee and Brun will take it.
I feel Brun's pain a bit. My issue is mostly that my room has a west-facing window, meaning that I get all the sun-glare in the evening, which is also when I'm mostly likely to be sitting at my computer, facing west. Curtains help a lot.
I think the reason Beeps' Conspiracy Theorist joke makes Roko a bit uncomfortable is because she is well aware that The Conspiracy is actually true and way more powerful than Beeps is even joking about.
Could you imagine what that would do to her if Roko told her?
"Oh yeah, I'm buds with Spookybot, this nigh-omniscient AI that spies on everyone and everything for their own amusement".
3956: Brun Trusts Her Gut
Everyone knows the most important thing in negotiation is making it clear you love what they're offering and will give them whatever it takes to get it.
I mean if this is a complex instead of someone's spare there really isn't going to be a big shift in price no matter how much you like the place.
#3957: A Powerful Incentive
Yeah, that probably would be a powerful incentive for me, too.
That would immediately kill my interest in the place. I'm very allergic to cats.
