I thought we had a thread for Questionable Content before, but I can't seem to find it.
Anyway, I just needed to say that today's
comic bummed me out, as it did its creator. I hope Faye doesn't go through with it. There's a pretty good chance she'll have a change of heart, I think. Sven definitely needs some comeuppance - karma still needs to bite him for that time he kicked Marten out the bathroom to deal with his date. What a jackdouche.

Station does seem rather clueless about human psychology and emotional reactions, as all A.I.s in this comic have been shown to be to varying extents. (Momo is the least clueless, as she seems to have an intuitive empathy for human beings, especially Marigold, whom she's done wonders for.) He's had to have explained to him, twice, why what he did to Lt. Abbie Potter was wrong. Furthermore, the second explanation was necessary because he thought apologizing with money, rather than sincere remorse and a promise to change his ways, was enough.
So his courting Hanners is somewhat creepy, yes, but I'd say it's less "he really should know better, with shades of Dogged Niceguy" and more "he genuinely doesn't get what makes humans tick."
Also, Hannelore/Station is one of the weirdest Childhood Friend Romance I have ever seen.

"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."See, if Station were a human, OR Hanners didn't have legitimate barriers to being in a romantic relationship, this would be much less creepy.
And this allows me to posit Hungry Joe's first law of robotics design: You can give your AI nukes or you can give it emotions, but you can't give an emotional AI nukes.
Charlie Tunoku is a lover and a fighter.

He phrased it as a date. For Hanners. With himself. Creep.
