Has ADD, plays World of Tanks, thinks up crazy ideas like children making spaceships for Hitler. Occasionally writes them down.@KSPAM: Here's what they look like as well as a few stats..
-.475 Wildey Magnum (.475 Mag)

-Smith & Wesson model 500 (.500 Magnum)

@Anahelya: I usually decide how a certain country/culture names work, and try to stay within that. I'm fond of modifying existing names or using alternate spellings (though I stay away from simply adding Ys and apostrophes).
-Example: In my steampunk story "The Ultimatum" the main country setting, people have profession-based last names (Smith, Cooper, Cartwright, Butcher, Cutler, etc.) women are named for pretty things, seasons and virtues (Ember, Grace, Autumn, Jade, Rose, etc.)While men have good strong "English" names (Richard, John, Davis, etc.). I made lists of these, and when I have a character to name I just pair up two that sound good together, much like a parent might do.
If I were to write some of the strange things that come under my eyes they would not be believed. ~Cora M. Strayer~I have four browser windows each of which has several tabs open in. I keep a strict layout, though. One of those 4 windows is for tvtropes. The first window is for gmail and several other constantly open things. Everything is exactly in its place.
Yes, I have mild OCD tendencies.
Right now I am wondering how much I should deny my characters' desire to leap into sex at the drop of a hat. I guess 'write it and see where it goes' works; I can always cut it later, but fighting where things want to go right there and then tends to cause blockage.
A brighter future for a darker age.@Morven: I'd say write all possible outcomes, from "She does with extreme joy" to "she refuses utterly" and decide which you like best. I had a similar situation and wrote the scene three different ways before deciding how I wanted to do it.
One can never write too much, only too little. After all, its easy to trim.
If I were to write some of the strange things that come under my eyes they would not be believed. ~Cora M. Strayer~I have two browsers open.
Edit: what is with this thing where it makes the exclamation point not an exclamation.

Firstly, brief intro: this story is set in a fantasy version of medieval China (think Avatar: The Last Airbender, Jade Empire, that sort of thing). The equivalent of chi is called Shadow, and martial arts are divided into the five Chinese elements (Fire, Water, Metal, Earth, Tree). (They don't literally control such elements like in Avatar; they're just the basis of the martial arts.) I'll hyperlink to the places that things are the fantasy counterparts of.
Song and Chang: Bill and Ted in medieval China.
- Song comes from Prosperous Wave
in southern Jiangshan
. He is from a merchant family, but keeps that quiet as merchants are not allowed to be scholars.
- Chang is from a northern tribe living in the mountains beyond the Great Chasm
, somewhat Manchu-based. Back home, he had a pet hedgehog, which he had to leave there.
Meeting as scholars, they immediately declare one another their rival, although in reality they're more Vitriolic Best Buds. When they see something they’re not meant to, they flee for their lives, meeting Mei and Rinzen in a hive of Cricket Demons. Their keenest desire is to become Gentlemen
. They are Bash Brothers.
Chiu Ji (昭志) (Brilliant Determination) – Born in Fragrant Harbour
. A very rich girl who left home after a marriage attempt went sour. Basically, as the eldest daughter she was to be married to a guy, but the problem is she’s missing an arm – cut off by a sinister Metal practitioner when she was twelve. Following this she trained in a variant of Water Arts developed in Ojeonnara
(based on Taekwondo) mostly consisting of kicks. Her parents thus annulled that potential wedding and waited three or so years to get her arm restored, but to no avail. (It couldn’t be magically regrown, due to the Metal practicioner’s meddling with the Shadow of the arm.) Finally, they resorted to careful bribery of a matchmaker, who fell in love with the prospective groom. The matchmaker thus revealed to the groom’s family that Ji had an arm missing, and scarpered with the groom. Not wishing to shame her family further, Ji also left, although with a note explaining why.
