And that it's apparently based on a comic? And that Sam And Max creator Steve Purcell drew fanart of it?

Personally, I've seen the TV specials and was kinda indifferent to 'em.
I'm not sure, but I think Mainframe did this.
Yes, the people who did Re Boot.
Edit: Upon inspection of their Wikipedia page, I can definitely confirm that BOTH Scary Godmother specials were made by Mainframe Entertainment. They went from making the first CGI shows to THIS?!

Sometimes life just sucks. You have to learn to take the good with the bad. Why should you expect anything different in the mediums?![]()

I wonder if the comics are any good. It might a bad case of Adaptation Decay.

I think it's actually the only holiday special that isn't better than GGROBAR!
Not Quite Batman
At least the Grandma special has decent animation. Scary Godmother looks worse than bad Play-Doh claymation.
"Religion isn't the cause of wars, it's the excuse." —Mycroft NextI think I recall them showing NMBC at one point, but that may have been during Christmas. Honestly, that and Corpse Bride would be a far better idea than Godmother.

"I feel like I'm on a raft and surrounding me is an ocean of dumb."- Mr. SarkThis is probably not a very popular opinion, but I liked it. It's fun. Compared to actual movies with high production values and talented filmmakers like The Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride, of course it's going to pale. But this is a made for TV holiday special. It's not supposed to be deep or meaningful, or scary or the least bit creepy. It's just meant to be a seasonal distraction and was not meant to be taken seriously.

Not a bad stance, but I think holiday specials can and have been much better than SG.
Oh, and you're prolly the only person on the Internet with an Otis avatar.
"Religion isn't the cause of wars, it's the excuse." —Mycroft NextR Eally, it's the sequel that's the stupid one of the two specials. Like how tampering with the costumes and candy of one small town apparently kills Halloween forever.
I loved both specials, although I don't like how the sequel was an homage to How The Grinch Stole Christmas.
I did a little research on this its based on a comic alright
. Why did the creator allow this to be made in CG is way beyond me. Heck this special and the comics are horrible in my own view. Now that I think of it. Didnt CN air corpse bride?
@Crow
I dunno, I've seen both on ABC Family plenty of times and no one seems to care. But, two different networks here. They and Nick (who seems more strict) have shown worse.
@Play
Maybe, a long time ago. Once.
It's a bit silly that they won't. Burton has a big fan base, many within the Periphery Demographic that CN grabs.
"I feel like I'm on a raft and surrounding me is an ocean of dumb."- Mr. Sark^ I don't follow your argument.
It's possible CN just doesn't want to pay for the TV rights to Burton's movies— the more popular a movie is, the more expensive it is to buy the rights for reairing. That's why so many channels air okay movies around midnight—it's a relatively cheap way to fill the slot.
Never seen Scary Godmother myself.
-facepalm- Thank you, Ronka; I hadn't even considered money. But yeah, that makes sense. Why play the big-budget classic NMBC when you can play a cheaper alternative. Especially in this economy.

This special is like the Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer of Halloween (and the Scooby Doo movie marathon of every holiday that is neither Christmas nor Halloween). I can't think of a single person who doesn't hate it, and yet every year around October, Cartoon Network rolls it out and will not stop rubbing it in your face for the entire month. But, honestly... what do people see in this thing? The animation is the laziest and choppiest you can imagine, the writing is beyond atrocious, none of the characters are likeable, and the jokes are unfunny. I honestly don't think even kids like it, but, befitting the holiday, it will not stay dead!
Any thoughts on this animated crime against God?
