Clever insights in odd places.

Also, wow, I haven’t seen Taz-Mania since I was a kid. Didn’t expect to see it referenced here.

Pop-up ads are healthy.

No, little robot. I’m sorry, but you’re wrong about that one.

Heh... I remember having some debates with people as to whether growing up with dial-up internet made us a bit more patient.

So the sensor only goes off when there's zero pressure? I would have thought that they would have set it to a higher (though still dangerously low) level instead.

I'm done trying to sound smart. "Clear" is the new smart.

Ambiguous. I read it as that they needed the vacuum pump to reduce the pressure for the test, not necessarily reducing it to 0. I'm not an expert, but poking around, the "zero pressure" test is a calibration one for the monitor where you attach it to zero pressure both to verify that the sensor is good, and also that there aren't other closed valves (admittedly, the references keep being for water systems).

Venting the air outside sounds wasteful compared to pumping it (or most of it) into a canister.

Failing to explain the reasons for safety rules during training ought to be a safety rule violation.

Hmm... given it's been hinted that this guy knows about the "brownies", I think it's an A.I. thing. Either he has seen robots abused by those who've realized their existence, or he's seen robots forcefully inducted into their society to protect their secret.

Could also be that this guy's just a strict one for union rules, either for safety or because he pads out the budget a bit ("Nope, can't start this job today because it won't be finished in the same day, so that's three hours on the clock, waiting for the next tasking.").

Could be bureaucracy not catching up yet. All of the people involved decided that AIs can be full employees but The Work Report Card says it must be signed by a human, therefore a human presence is mandatory for everything official.
