Dissidia Final Fantasy Thread

I just simultaneously orgasmed and shat unicorns.

I hope this title comes to the US and Europe. Who am I kidding; it's Final Fantasy. I'm getting this on release day.

I hope Vaan doesn't make it in. Nice kid, i guess, but compared to Balthier and Ashe i really don't want him representing his game. Plus he stole his name from the first RPG i ever played.

Would kill to play as Ramza. Final Fantasy Tactics sucked so much of my childhood away from me that Ramza's practically the first guy that pops to mind when i think "Swords and sorcery". Seriously. I just started A2 so i haven't seen Adelle yet.

Marche should be a villain.

Bleye knows Sabers.

From the 3D games I'm hoping for(in descending order): Balthier, Auron, Vivi, Quistis, Red XIII(I know it won't happen but out of all the VII characters he needs the most exposure).

Haven't decided on the 2D games.

Who will XIII use as a villain?

Closest thing I can think of is Cid(he even has an EX mode already set up).

I know Bart is the real villain(for about the last 1/5th of the game anyway) but he sucks.

If I had to choose a villain for Lightning, it'd be Cid too.

For all we know, they might not even give her a "villain" to fight...I'm kinda thinking the "12" in the title means twelve new characters, and they'll pick whoever will add more to the game.

As for V, I really want Galuf as a Blue Mage, as a way of contrasting with Bartz by copying the moves from the Chaos side of the roster.

Should we add placeholder entries for Kain and Lightning to the character sheet? Perhaps another folder for Duodecim characters?

I have a message from another time...

The tagline shown in the scan reads, "The glorious war between Light and Dark begins!" and the character descriptors are "Kain - The Cool Dragoon" and "Lightning - The Lightspeed Woman Warrior." Hopefully larger scans will surface to allow for more translations.

JD Callum, Kuja's VA, was in the studio three months ago recording new dialogue, and said that they've probably finished up already with everyone else. The good news is that the actors are far more familiar with their characters now, and the voice direction is much better focused. Now I liked the dub myself, but I know a lot of fans did not. Callum said that he (and perhaps other actors) incorporated a lot of the feedback from the fans into their performances, so let's see what comes of it. __________________

I can see including Ramza, with a fighting style based on boosting his own abilities and lowering the opponents, but not Marche or Luso because their sets would either be too similar to Ramza's  ^*

or Bartz's EX Mode and Onion Knight  ^*

I agree that Adelle as a Heritor would probably be a better choice than Luso.

It sucks that the weapon so far unique to A2, the hand cannon (not the trope, but rather a portable cannon), can't be used by Luso or Adelle.

EDIT: If Vaan does end up in this, I would hope his abilities would be some combination of his unique Sky Pirate abilities in A2 (not Revenant Wings, which was just a Tactics Soldier clone) and various Augments from XII. Or at the very least use his A2 costume instead of his XII costume.

I would love to see Ramza incorporate attacks from the other Tactics characters - like Shadowblade and Judgement Blade. Also, it would be interesting if his opposite were Ultima, and they played up the 'Alma possessed by Ultima' angle.

Also, we need more female close combatants. Tifa and Celes, please.

New Dissidia? Hell yes. But I find it surprising that the English dialogue would already be recorded. That seems a bit fast...

Anyways, a few characters I'd like to see Zack, Vivi and Luso/Adelle in this.

You know what'd be funny? I f Kain's level 100 exclusive weapon was "Kain's Lance".

In other news, I'm officially hyped as hell.

Just had an idea of how we could add another Chaos-side character to the roster from I.

Chaos. If one were to tone down his brokenness enough, he could be a playable character.

Meanwhile, the Cosmos side could gain another one of I's possible classes. That, or Cosmos herself as the opposite for Chaos.

I think it'd be even more awesome if they made a Squeenix Dissidia. That said, having more characters than the mains is cool. More variety in weapons :)

Taking a break from FE1, for the FE8 draft instead

^ 26 is already a huge cast for a fighter RPG. Adding characters from spinoffs is an impossibility.

I want a Dissidia game with characters from every Square Enix franchise.

Discover the rest as the game progresses.

Id would solo the entire FF cast. Well 99% of them.

Anyway, my hopes for this new game:

1. Improved voice direction. My god, it's such a shame hearing great voice-actors wasted. Look at Gabranth. His XII voice was perfect but even his new voice is good. Basch was nice in 12. But he just sounded absolutely horrid in Dissidia.

Kuja too. They need to fix him.

2. PS 3 release.

My main idea would be to include zemus too, as a way to oppose kain. I'm pretty excited for lightning, I always tought that zidane, kuja and her could go a long ways in terms of storytelling.

vs Kain:

Kuja: Brothers and friends will always end up rivaling each other!

Zemus: Your hatred is the best you've got! use it against me!!!

Lightning: redemption can ALWAYS be reached!!

Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off the goal.

@Kerrah: Yes, but a character from a game without one might be favor over another character from some of the main series game. Even if we do have ideas they'll have trouble finding a new distinct hero from II III or V or either from I.

I'd like more control on what equips your enemies use. There's no fun or challenge if the AI keeps choosing Excalipoor/Ensanguined Shield/Bone Mail/Crap.

Also, more alt costumes and music choices please.
