I've actually played this. It's no Excuse Plot at all. There is actually a pretty interesting plot with genuine Character Development here. Like we can genuinely learn a lot about these characters and there Hidden Depths. Heck check the page as I'm not kidding. It's kinda telling a lot of the tropes are non sex related.
Plus the main plot of investigating your father's death is kinda interesting. You even go up against The Mafiya in an actually intense fight.
(it's still a sex game obviously but it's not just that)

I’d say that if you’ve played it and the game has a genuinely interesting plot then it can stay.
