They've had Star Force-themed weapons in X Dive, I know that much. It's definitely coming at some point.
Buttloads of filler
Couldn't you say that about the anime in general, other than Beast?

A lot of episodes just have the villain causing mayhem among the public resulting in the Mega Man and Lan trying to stop them.

I think it was a little worse in Stream.

It felt far more like a Monster of the Week format, and while the series was no stranger to that (probably more in the original series than Axess), it felt really bad in stream, especially since some of that could have been mitigated with more souls (so it at least felt like something was coming out of the episodes).

Worst yet, the Cross Fusions they sacrificed souls for came way late too.

Meh, at least the Asteroid Navi operators outside the Neo WWW lackeys had a motive.

You bring up decent points with the souls though.

I say only Pride got screwed with Cross Fusion only having to share her one episode with the others.

I don't think Stream's Monster of the Week episodes were the problem in-and-of-themselves given that the show had largely been following that format since the very beginning, the problem was more with how much sillier and goofier many of their plots were. For example back in Axess you had things like Burnerman attacking a geothermal energy plant, Coldman taking over a mine to secure raw material for Dark Chip production, or Beastman OD-ing on Dark Chips to get revenge on Lan and Megaman alongside the goofier comic relief stuff with with Bubbleman and Videoman. Compare to Stream having episodes like Narcy trying to literally paint the town pink, Inukai and Beastman trying to make toy cars go feral (?!), and that one kid trying to wreck the agricultural industry because he hates eating vegetables.

In hindsight, I think what happened was that parts of Axess were found too dark and scary for kids - remember this is the season where Miyabi goes on a drugDark Chip-fueled rampage and has a heart attack, Protoman stalks Chaud and Anetta through SciLab like a slasher villain, and Shadowman and Shademan both get Family Unfriendly Deaths - and the showrunners were asked to dial things back for the next season and overcompensated.

Inukai and Beastman transformed real cars to look and act like wild animals. Its absurd, but using reals cars is more dangerous than mere toys.

Yeah I can agree with the Souls, but I think for the most part we got a good plot out of most of it.

 • The first arc has the whole 1-11 Neo WWW forming with like half of them being Monster of the Week and get Charlie.
 • 12-22 introduce Dingo, Jasmine, and reintroduce Raika (which takes three episodes for him to get Cross Fusion and Duo's) and Ms. Yuri of all people with Misaki while Chaud and Raoul are doing their own thing and Dark Chips, but there's like a couple of fillers in there.
 • 23-32: A filler to get to know Jasmine more, Tesla getting her Synchro Chip and Yuri saving Lan with her Cross Fusion (sorry Higsby), Pride and Raika teaming up so she can get her Crest, Maylu recovering from Demoted to Extra at the cost of Ribetta, Chaud and Raoul getting more details on Colonel, then the movie, and the space time shift, and the two parter with Shademan's return.
 • 33-41: Dingo/Charlie/Tesla/Jasmine get their Crests in the first three, Dark Mega Man finally shows up, 37 has everyone teaming up to take on Dark Mega Man's forces. 38 is Maylu's Crest of Duo time lol, 39 & 40 has Neo WWW's final defeat.
 • Then it's all straight plot: Everyone gets Cross Fusions, gets Dusk on the team, 44...wait that's beach filler, and then a straight ride to the finale.

 • Outside of 4, 6, 14, maybe 15 and the first two parts of 16, 22-24, 27, 30, certain Crest of Duos, and 44, I'd say about 79% is must watch.
 • There does seem to bit a bit of padding though, as D-Pad pointed out since when it comes to the other Cross Fusion/Team Protoman and Colonel members outside of Lan and Cahud, we get one episode to introduce them and get their Crest of Duo or their Cross Fusion member later on, which can get a bit tedious, though it's more of the middle episode they're involved with are debatable if you can skip over.

Heck, Comic X6, I kinda have to agree with Metal Michelangelo, Stream had a lot of brutal moments.

 • Maylu/Roll deleted Desertman with a black hole (which is equally awesome and scary)
 • a lot of the in-universe attacks could get messed up especially since our human villains were terrorists. In the first three episode Giant Mettaur of all things and other viruses destroying the city are so messed up, Wily has to get involved too
 • Inukai was legit sending his lion to kill pre-teens, not to mention all the criminal attacks and victims of the Asteroid Navis almost turning a lot of innocents into would be terrorists. It says a lot that in like 4 episode the heroes need the old World Three to stop Neo World Three.
 • Regal's decaying body, his final form and something dirty to Maylu-Roll
 • Slur murdering Dark Mega Man, hell Slur in general is a walking Curb-Stomp Battle. How do you tank three Program Advances and Colonel at once.

And I still can't believe that Duo actually destroyed the whole Earth at the end.

I don't know how many people have seen the original Mega Man vs Met video, but there's now a sequel.

(Yes, it's Exactly What It Says on the Tin, Mega Man trying to defeat a Met.)

The Ken Ishikawa Rockman manga (yes, THAT Ken, the father of the Getters) is amazingly crazy and Getter-esque.

Just found a 3d fan remake of what I think is the original Mega Man Battle Network:

Oh Battle Network. I'd said again and again that you were ahead of your time. If you'd debuted a few years later, during the era of the 3DS rather than the Game Boy Advance, you'd probably still be going strong.

I mean, I'd say six games was a pretty good run.

Though I've had the same thought about Star Force. That series' focus on interconnectivity, even in the story, would have been a perfect fit for the 3DS, with Streetpass and all that.

Never released in a physical format in North America! Teased as far back as 2019!

Retro-Bit Gaming's official physical cartridge version of Mega Man: The Wily Wars is finally coming for pre-order this Friday! Boasting faster response time when compared to the original NTSC-J cartridge, reversible covers, a full color manual, lenticular cards, and more!

(Bear in mind, "physical cartridge" means "cartridge for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive." Hope you got that Genesis out of the closet and cleaned up. Otherwise, Retro-Bit has third-party consoles explicitly retro games.)

First, M2 includes Wily Wars in the Genesis Mini, now we are finally getting a cartridge in the US.

This is great news since not a lot of fans here really got to play Wily Wars unless they had the Sega Channel.

Now, can we get a rerelease of both Powered Up and Maverick Hunter X? Or the Saturn version of 8 which has extra bosses?

What? All gone?!? HULA HEIDIIIIII!!!!

Wily Wars is kind of a weird game in that it's both better and worse than the NES originals at the same time.

God I need this for my retro collection. I have a working Genesis so I can play it, too.

Thankfully preorders will be open for a whole month. Presumably there won't be supply issues due to that.

 • Beware of the ball.
 • Man the performances for the actual dub weren't that bad looking back.
 • Never played Command Mission, you guys got that reference?
 • Hold, I just realized Grave Virus/Gospel and Gregar look mad identical. Was that intentional in the games?
 • When you realize Mega and Roll have a better honesty than Lan and Maylu
 • I AM THE STORM THAT IS APPROACHING...wait Roll had a Cyclone chip.
 • Waifu sucker.
 • I have to agree with the D-Pad, way too many dudes wanted to bang Ms. Mari. Can't tell if I wanted her with Higsby or Masa?
 • Bass's english voice actor is the same as Ed from Ed Edd and Eddy, and Rantaro from Beyblade Burst. I did not see that coming.

Gospel and Gregar looking the same was indeed deliberate. The game explains that the were formed the same way (a giant mass of Bug Frags fused together) with Gregar occurring naturally while Gospel was (unintentionally) man made.

Currently watching a walkthrough of the DS version of Battle Network 5.

Funny how they left in the instrumental of Be Somewhere (the opening for Stream) when Stream never even aired in the west, thereby undermining the connection.

The Beach Episode in the game has Dekao mention a forbidden technique where you take get changed into your swimsuit without having to take off your clothes, which reminds me of a similar scene from the Beach Episode of Starforce 3.

Meiru/Mayl/Maylu's swimsuit sprite reminds me of her swimsuit from Stream's Beach Episode.

Seeing Pride in the game again, I find it odd there's no reference to the fact that she previously tried to kill Lan and a lot of other people. I recall she was tricked by Gospel/told she could help her home if she did it, but still.

Also, how old is she supposed to be? I think she's only meant to be about 14, but I think the anime aged her up a bit at times (she's almost as mature as some of the older women in the series). Then again, come Axess, everyone seems like they were aged up a bit.

This is actually the first time I've watched any videos of Battle Network 5. It's interesting to see it in action, since back I came into the franchise through the anime (when I was first able to start watching Japanese raws) around this time, and I remembered the trailer for the original GBA version of Team Protoman and Team Colnel.

I heard somewhere that Team Protoman is considered non-canon (since Lan knows Baryl in Battle Network 6, and he and Colnel only shows up in a few scenes in the Protoman version). Is there any confirmation on that?

"Team Protoman is non-canon!" isn't an official statement, but in addition to Lan's emotional conflict with Baryl and Colonel making much more sense following the game where they actually met and worked with one another, Dingo happens to be one of the Link Navi operators in Cybeast Falzer and he and Lan act like they already know each other so...

Plus isn't the Colonel version the one where Wily appears in full instead of it being an implied appearance in the ending?
