In which we get updates from the lives of tropers. Kinda like Twitter with more than 140 characters, but less than a blog or LJ.
Please refrain from excess venting in this thread. Talking about negative emotions is fine but it's best not to dwell on them for too long. TV Tropes is not suited to deal with mental health situations.

So 108, is like, the Arc Number of Real Life?
(I'm spouting nonsense as if I'm loopy, but I don't feel tired. Weird.)
Heapers’ HangoutAnd the scary thing is is that Buddhists have likely come with significant meanings to each of those numbers as you have written them.
Buddhism has a fetish for numbers.
^I suppose so. Buddhism's main arc numbers are 3, 4, and 5. Pretty much every other number in the religion can be divided by those. Into other numbers significant to Buddhism.

If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahIt means a lot of things.
The most common thing in my mind is The Three Marks of Existence. Impermanence, Anatta, and Dukkha.
There are also The Three Gems which are The Buddha, The Dhamma, and The Sangha. We also call these The Three Refuges and take them during all ceremonies and spontaneously when we feel we must.

INT is knowing a tomato is a fruit. WIS is knowing it doesn't belong in a fruit salad. CHA is convincing people that it does. There are also The Three Worlds that break up into various realms. Each Buddha has Three Bodies, there are Three Roots of Evil, Three Pillars of Zen, and our religious canon consists of three sections called baskets. Hence Tipitaka.
^I am not certain how many instances of 3 there are. Not all 3's are considered significant by all schools. Like The Three Pillars which are a Zen thing.

It's always fun when someone gives you a rambling point.
Heapers’ HangoutThat is also three threes, CA. Which make nine. There are nine ways to not accept something as truth as given by The Kalama Sutta. The only way to accept something as truth is to test and observe it.

I like the number 108 because it's 9 x 12. That's 3 x 3 x 3 x 4- or, in other words, 3 x 3 x 3 x 2 x 2 x 1, or 33 x 22 x 11. Nice awesome numbers.
There are too many toasters in my chimney!
