In which we get updates from the lives of tropers. Kinda like Twitter with more than 140 characters, but less than a blog or LJ.

Please refrain from excess venting in this thread. Talking about negative emotions is fine but it's best not to dwell on them for too long. TV Tropes is not suited to deal with mental health situations.

Does money come more with pleasure, or pride?

Look, it's a cousin of Trope-Tan.

That depends on the pleasure.

Well, choosing pride would be a gamble. Look upon my works ye mighty, and all that, but only if I get the good outcome.

Pride is better than pleasure.

It's not exactly naive. And it can happen. But it's tough. And definetly worthwhile.

Well, both are sins. tongue But you'll live longer with food and sex than a high opinion of yourself.

...unless you hate yourself so much you don't care to stay alive.

Yeah, but just because you'er proud doesn't mean you won't look for food and sex, ya know. And overindulging in both would just make you a humping Jabba The Hutt. And that's not precisely someone I'd want to be in my life.

Works have a small chance of yielding immortality though.

I technically could drop out and secure a decent living right now, but pride won't let me. Plus it would make a lot of other people unhappy, I'm not prepared to deal with that shit.

I feel like I'm on Mellon's same boat. The last thing I want to do is drop out of college, but there seems to be so much bullshit in American education nowadays.

@Juan You saying Jabba the Hutt didn't have it good? ;P

@mellon Small...

Fortunately with the Internet they might actually live forever. [lol]

I just can't drop out because I'm living at home...and I mostly like the lifestyle I've grown up in...

@Schitzo: Me Too!. Specially because I already have a source of income and if I work hard it can easily become a lifestyle. But...well, I paid too much for this place and I know that the first semester is the "filter" as they call it around here.

I'm like, super obsessed with cybernetics and stuff. But I only like looking at the big picture, I don't like working with the details.

Does that mean I should be a manager?

Similarly I want to be some kind of creative person, but the process of anything but thought would drive me insane. It's why I quit type design, none of my concepts ever made it beyond sketches.

Managerial stuff involves accounting...

One of my biggest frustrations is not having the level of skill necessary to execute my ideas as I imagine them in my head.

Equally frustrating is that I know I could take steps to improve my skill, but I can't decide just which skills I'd like to focus on improving.

Majoring in CS.

Yeah, I would expect accounting to be more complicated, just sayin' that I like what I've seen of it so far.
