Troper Updates II, Part II

Go To

In which we get updates from the lives of tropers. Kinda like Twitter with more than 140 characters, but less than a blog or LJ.

Please refrain from excess venting in this thread. Talking about negative emotions is fine but it's best not to dwell on them for too long. TV Tropes is not suited to deal with mental health situations.

You later learn Joey has [[ADH Dthinking about changing the world. When his teacher comes back, at recess, he decides to make 1,000,000 bumper stickers. The scissors he uses are too dull, so he snuck into his teacher's desk and took the sharper, bigger scissors. He trips over his bunny slippers and cuts the tip off a girl's nose.

Dude wtf. I never remembered kids' books being so messed up.

Hey kids stories used to be fucked up, full of blood and gore, death, rape and gratuitous violence. We have panzyfied most of the stories though.

So post there, Charlatan. I want to get Eddie's attention so it can get fixed and I can take that thread off my watchlist. ;(

Just came back from class. Midterm was OK.

It's not exactly naive. And it can happen. But it's tough. And definetly worthwhile.

I think I'm getting myself involved into an Edit War. Shit. Problem is, I'm right. xD

@Chalatan Thank you.

Alright! So now I either run all around this fora getting people to post, stay here and get people to post, hope I do enough to get his attention, and/or just PM the man himself in an attempt to directly appeal. :|

I can see that, it's just the weird thing is that I never noticed when I actually read them as a kid.

Death by Newbery Medal didn't affect me at all. I just went "huh, what a stupid boring ending", never got more emotional than that. Does that mean anything.

I remember a troper asking me if I had a valid reason for ABSOLUTELY HAVING to talk with fans about a given series.

I think the answer is "not necessarily" at this point. Not until I can selectively cockpunch people over the internet, anyway.
