Troper Updates II, Part II

Congrats. How'd you get one so soon? Underlying health condition, or essential medical worker?

I don't know about other states, but here in Texas, obesity is considered a qualifying comorbidity, and since BMI is totally broken, most of the people I know count as obese.

I mean yeah, someone my size and shape is obese, but the pretty fit middle-aged guy with a bit of a brisket belly? Just one point short of counting as obese.

It's just been impossible to get an appointment because there are none available.

Essential worker (I work in a grocery store).

Speaking of medical stuff, my mom told me that my father has not gotten one yet. I was very surprised by that, considering that he was one of the most famous cardiologists in America. :S

I mean, we stayed open through the lockdown because we're technically shipping, but I sure don't feel essential when 90% of what we do is Amazon returns.

Hey, everybody. I have great news. I have completed the China chapter of my new book. :) Once again, it took me a bit longer than I expected. ^_^;; Then again, in my defense, China is the third largest country in the world. (or fourth, depending on who you ask). Another chapter of vacationing around the world under my belt. :) And it ends with a great big surprise. ;)

Well, I just saw my younger brother for what may be the last time. For the next three years. He's going to be spending that time living in Japan for a logistics job.

I've had a tough few months with lots of stress and lack of sleep, so I'm on sick leave due to exhaustion. The capper was a car accident, where the damn thing rolled on its side after hitting a snowbank. Miraculously, I survived without any physical injuries, whatsoever, but the stress from that incident made me even more tired. Currently I'm using the time off to fix up my workshop, so that I can begin crafting stuff again, because that usually relaxes me.

I have been sketching stuff and man, those things are good! When I learn how to turn them into actual drawings...excited!

Thanks! I already feel better, now that I don't have wait until the weekend to take care of very important stuff. That means that I can spread out tasks and chores more evenly, as well as stop and think about what to do. As a bonus, I have a fireplace now, so I get to chop firewood and burn it. That's another thing that I find very relaxing.

I miss having one of those. ^_^;;

Had a recent meltdown, feeling a bit better now, but I may hang around less.

So. An inheritance payout I've been expecting for the past few weeks finally came through.

I was expecting maybe a few hundred dollars, right?

It's almost seven thousand dollars.

I'm. Kind of stunned atm and don't quite know what to do with this just yet. Looks like I'm headed to the bank tomorrow, though...

Last week or so my mom had this scare with losing her phone because I guess she left it in a customer's vehicle and they drove off to their house with it by mistake. Thankfully her boyfriend managed to work things out and the customer was plenty nice and personable so she managed to get it back...albeit, not before ordering a new phone because we really thought her old one was lost for good. So there's all that.

An artist I follow on Twitter just followed me! Day made.

Well, the inevitable has happened. Mom's company is going under and she has been officially let go from her job. Not that Mom was ever going back to that job, but having been employed since she was 15 years old, it is a weird feeling for her to officially not be employed. None of us are worried about the family finances thanks to smart money decisions and a firm faith that God will look out for us.

Mom still feels like she needs to bathe to get the sleaze of being associated with this business in the first place off, though.

I am now entering a place I haven’t been to for a very long time; a museum. More specifically the City Museum in St. Louis.

Took a little over a year, but I've finally launched a trope! And more importantly, I've gotten my second vaccine shot. Not looking forward to my arm being sore, even my (non-dominant) left one, but feeling fine so far.

Both pieces of good news.

I have now finished watching all of Lost. :)

Almost a week late, but I got my first Pfizer dose Friday. Minimal side effects; just injection site soreness and next-day fatigue. Now comes the tricky part; making sure my appointment for my second dose is also Pfizer.

I started learning guitar. Hopefully I can keep at it.
