Troper Updates II, Part II

In which we get updates from the lives of tropers. Kinda like Twitter with more than 140 characters, but less than a blog or LJ.

Please refrain from excess venting in this thread. Talking about negative emotions is fine but it's best not to dwell on them for too long. TV Tropes is not suited to deal with mental health situations.

I've been seeing Romney's "you DID build your business" ads on the site today. I'm already in a bad mood because two of my church elders spoke in favor of Chick Fil A in service this morning, so I clicked "Tell your story", and posted this:

I was promptly abandoned in the wilderness after birth, surviving only on my ability to feed and shelter myself. That tenacity that got me out of the woods was later turned to my education, which I absorbed entirely from my own observation skills, and still later when I started my own business. I build all my equipment and locations myself, and never drive on socialist roads. It's difficult using my own independent currency, but as I have no employees to pay and rely only upon myself as a customer, I eventually overcame and am currently worth eleventy billion Mios. My hands built this business, and nobody else's.

Self has been watching playthroughs of Dark Corners Of The Earth.

So much insanity. I've played games where heroes have fought monsters just as scary. Like Link with the ReDeads...and Dead Hand.

You gotta believe me when I scare you away, all that I wish for is that you would stay

I came into work today and found the following message left:

Lucky air conditioning was fixed. Shit could have got real.

Apparently the technician dude who was here yesterday found that there was more than three times the safe amount of refridgerant gas in the system. It is apparently remrkable that the whole unit didn't explode like a fucking bomb and fill the ops room with supercooled toxic gas.

It has been losing small amounts through a faulty seal, though, which may explain the irritation to my throat and eyes when the thing's on. Which is why I always turn it off.

Fun times.
