In which we get updates from the lives of tropers. Kinda like Twitter with more than 140 characters, but less than a blog or LJ.
Please refrain from excess venting in this thread. Talking about negative emotions is fine but it's best not to dwell on them for too long. TV Tropes is not suited to deal with mental health situations.

Back.
It is a cold-ish, wet, windy December evening, so guess what?
It was Busy.
Unsurprisingly.
The worse the weather gets, the busier it gets as a rule.
Anyway, since today is the birthday of Jean Sibelius, here is a little something:
FINLANDIA!

Keep Rolling OnSo, in #yackfest we've been discussing what it takes to leave TV Tropes for good. I know, I know, who would want to do that?
Anyway, if you want to leave, but don't have the willpower to stay away I have a trick that will make it hard to visit the site. It's essentially a self-imposed Google bounce!
We'll be using the magic of a hosts file. Hosts files have things to do with DNS and such. I'm not gonna explain that. Pretend it is magic. Anyway, every operating system has a hosts file, but most of them tuck it away in different corners. Refer to the table below to find your host file.
Anyway, once you find your host file you'll see something like this
. At the bottom of this file add the line:
Now visiting TV Tropes should bounce you to Google.*
Anyway, the point of this is to make it take some amount of work and make you think about it before you actually visit the site.
| Operating System | Location |
| Linux | etc/hosts |
| Windows XP | c:\\windows\\system32\\drivers\\etc\\hosts |
| Mac OSX | System Folder:Preferences and in the System Folder itself. |

"The world ends with you. If you want to enjoy life, expand your world. You gotta push your horizons out as far as they'll go."Ah, I love Killing Floor so much, I want to get it while it's on a low price!
go for hannukah, rumetz. I hear they go all the way after the second date.
This reminds me of a scene in Stand By Me
you all needed to know that tidbit
That was a good movie.
Man, I still need to watch Twin Peaks.
On my TV to do list:
1) Finish Buffy
2) Watch more of Twin Peaks other than the pilot
3) Finish The Wire
4) Watch Being Human, maybe
5) Finish Oz
6) Finish Angel
Buffy isn't worth finishing, Being Human isn't all that good.
The 5 geek social fallacies. Know them well.Being Human looked like crap. After all, it's on Sy Fy.
"Sarchasm: The gulf between the author of sarcastic wit and the person that doesn't get it."Indeed. Buffy is good when you pretend there is no sixth and seventh season.
Hell, even Whedon intended for the show to end at the fifth season.
Angel is amazing through and through. Although season 4 can feel like a drag to some. I felt it was good enough. Season 5's first half is rather slow, but a bit of a return to form and the second half is kick ass as all hell and involves Angel fully aknowledging the fact that he's a vampire private detective demon lawyer
"My life is my own" | If you want to contact me privately, please ask first on the forum....I can think of at least 3 musicians who have sampled Sinistar.
Angel was the better show, partly due to a lack of Sarah Michelle Gellar, the non-acting woman.

The 5 geek social fallacies. Know them well.By finish Buffy I mean watch the last episode of the fifth season cause I still haven't done that. I'll probably watch seasons six and seven though for Buffyx Spike.
What I saw of Being Human was pretty good. Dunno if it will end up being a regular watch though.
Hey, I thought she was a pretty good actor.
Okay, I know that "I Hunger" quote is from a song I listen to all the time but can't think of. I'm 90% sure it's a Cage song.

Fluid: True. I know a lot of crossdressers keep it a secret even after they've got married. I think there's interesting potential in such a story.
You're an ad hominem attack!
