The EU was an admirable idea, but terribly unrealistic. What it turned into is a bureaucracy-choked, opressive morass. Though, to be honest, I never was a fan of big, supranational entities.

Anyway, seeing it collapse would be deliciously ironic for Serbia, considering that the last ten years have been spent in the blind policy of charging towards the EU as quickly as possible and practically copypasting European laws, leaving the economy in ruins. Under the current pro-Western, "liberal" government, we have a lower level of civil rights than we did under Milošević. If that 3% increase in GDP and a vague sense of accomplishment mean completely destroying our economy in the long run and losing our freedom, fuck the EU.

The sin of silence when they should protest makes cowards of men.

none of the choices are permissible
greece defaulting is a terrible idea
greece going back into its old currency will deflate its own and the euro
greece bailout is temporary and cost a lot of money
there is very little trust in greece economics even if it somehow recovers
if best
the euro may survive but its a terrible currency

personally
the eu was too decentralized and was a confederate
anyone with a basic history of the united states
know that the articles of confederation is a terrible idea
no actual leader/government controls its member states
a confederation is idealistic but impossible to manage

Just had a Telephone Interview. I PASSED.

Not it's onto the Live Action Interview. In the Excel Centre in London, unfortunately, but that is where it is happening...the 2012 Olympics, that is. The Job might be temporary, but it's a step in the right direction.

So, I finally have a place where I can do a practical training. Well, I had it before, but now it's secure. Seems like a pretty nice place and the boss seems to be rather easy-going (for someone in his position).

Well, it certainly looks good.

Quick! Someone punch me repeatedly in the dick until I finish my story!

Well... After an hour of TF 2, at least. Oh, then I need to go out and get breakfast... And I I'll probably take a nap after that... And I have to check Facebook, P Wo T, and the Na No Wri Mo forums...

You're understating how bad its going to be.

I had no qualifiers attached to my statement. I just said it would be bad.

Well, all economic bad things (depressions, recessions, whatever) have to end eventually. Maybe people should, within reason, just wait it out?

I was totally wrong, gender studies had the opposite effect on my distaste for girls than I wanted it to.

Loud, obnoxious, talk-over-the-teacher girls...practically all over them.

Back from a terrifying seminar. I had to write a review, and I picked Homestuck to write about for some insane reason. Halfway through reading it out I was just thinking "what the fuck am I reading? This is pretentious bullshit and if I'd read this review I wouldn't have touched Homestuck with a ten foot pole." The class gave mostly positive feedback and the ones who actually knew what Homestuck was said the review was good, but I suspect they were just being nice.

Better than the one guy did, though. He read out a really snarky, quite vicious review of the Bible as if it were a bestselling fantasy novel. It was actually really well written and quite witty, but he picked totally the wrong audience.

To give you some idea, until quite recently The Life of Brian was banned around here for religious reasons.

So of course everyone was ripping into it: the Bible isn't a novel! The Bible isn't fiction!

Afterwards I told him I thought it was kinda funny and he hugged me.

Ugh. It's so annoying when students talk over the teacher.

How in the world are you supposed to hear one person talk if someone else is talking at the same time?

I'm pretty sure the Bible's at least novelic. ;P

My biggest relief is that my class is over in a few weeks. I wish there were more girl tropers I knew so I could try flirting with them to see if I still can.

But I guess that doesn't make me much different from the rest of the straight tropers.

Sorry to hear it, Idler. Hope you get well soon.

Abstract art thread on TV Tropes? I'm sure this will be completely intelligent and informative and absolutely not end badly, like all the previous threads on the subject.
