In which we get updates from the lives of tropers. Kinda like Twitter with more than 140 characters, but less than a blog or LJ.
Please refrain from excess venting in this thread. Talking about negative emotions is fine but it's best not to dwell on them for too long. TV Tropes is not suited to deal with mental health situations.

I can listen.
No, but seriously, good for you.
Now you can legally operate an motorised transportation unit!
Right?
Driver's ed?
Pff, been there, done it...
@Hopey: Most of what we do in PE is at least bearable, but it's still one lesson that's always in the afternoon, hours after any regular lessons and as such a particular waste of time. Then again, I'm biased against it anyway.
A different shape every step I take A different mind every step of the lineNo, I still to get a learner's permit and license.
Underneath the bridge The tarp has sprung a leak And the animals I've trapped have all become my petsI have to wait until I'm 17 to even attempt to learn how to drive.
It'll take me a year to learn how to drive, and if I pass first time around, I have to spend the next 6 months driving with an already-qualified driver in the passenger seat.
And then, I'm free to drive anywhere by myself.
Morning, guys.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.MORNING, ROY!
Whyfore art thou?
Learner's permit? One year of learning and then another half year of supervised driving?
And I thought it was complicated here...
A different shape every step I take A different mind every step of the line@ Plaz.
For me:
Obtain provisional licence (this allows me to operate a vehicle under strict supervision, and only at specific times) —> Obtain insurance (extremely expensive) —> One to two years of learning —> If pass, obtain full licence, have to get proper insurance —> six months of more strict supervision —> FREEDOOOOM!
Hopey, get on yer mams insurance.
Dutch LesbianOoooooh heck. So it seems I only need a few hours to upchuck information from a 250-page-probably-plus book to get in four pages of double-spaced, MLA-formatted, analytic goodness.
...I'm a bit disappointed.
Though it makes things easier for me. ;/ Gender studies was actually not as fun as I had hoped that it could be.
What I've learned: men can be jerks and women can be whiners.
...oh hey I knew that already!
I will be.
She said "HOPEY! If you pass first time around, I will give you my car, pay for petrol, the insurance (on her plan, of course), and everything else!"
YES! My mother has a nice car.
OOOO, Gender Studies! GO HUMANTIES!

so hey, I finally went down to Zucotti Park today!
You can't even write racist abuse in excrement on somebody's car without the politically correct brigade jumping down your throat!@guy Oh really?
Prove it.
For me it was choir tuxedos, you know. It got even worse when they put in shoulder pads...
I DESPISE SHOULDER PADS EVEN MORE. D:<
@ Moog. You want to see me in my school uniform...?
Because, like, I wear a business suit and tie to school. I don't want to be perceived as some snobby loser guy.
@Hopey.Ah right, I forgot you had that complicated insurance scheme thing over there...
The process here is basically: Sign up with some driving school, do some theoretical stuff, start with practial stuff when instructor thinks you should, meanwhile continue with theory until you can take the test for that, finish up practical and do the test on that. Done. Canbe done in ~half a year. Be 18 now and tadah, you can drive.
Anyway, Hopey, promise me you do better than one of my cousins did, don't fail the test six times.
A different shape every step I take A different mind every step of the lineNah, I like seeing other people in their uniforms. I don't like to wear or be seen in my own.
It's like..."Hey, those people are part of something bigger than themselves. Good for them. Those poor souls..."
Six times?
Well, I'm sure to beat that.
Or just take my city's glorious public transit system.
Okidoke. I'll post one in Photos when I get time, I guess.
