In which we get updates from the lives of tropers. Kinda like Twitter with more than 140 characters, but less than a blog or LJ.

Please refrain from excess venting in this thread. Talking about negative emotions is fine but it's best not to dwell on them for too long. TV Tropes is not suited to deal with mental health situations.

I hope you did well too.

Now then. Time to shoot some no-good two-bit red-necks in Borderlands.

Juan's gone? Aww...

Who else has left of late? (I've been bouncing around more subfora here recently, and I've also been rather stressed, and not paying attention to many things.)

I've felt rather strange today... Very hurried and mentally rushed. It's hard to describe any better than that: not racing thoughts, but... Damn. Lost it.

Vile. Smokers and cigarette butts all over the place. It instills in me feelings of irritation, pity...and worst, pride. >_>

The only upside: the last one is most empowering.

...but, class time. Later.

I. Hate. Grading. Homeworks.

Really.

Reading the same trivial exercise again and again, with the same solution but with some minor errors added or subtracted, must be the most soul-crushing thing that I ever did in my life.

Which probably just means that my life has always been quite awesome so far, grading excepted; but still.

Perhaps, for the future, I should look for research positions that do not involve teaching...

I dunno. Is "homework" one of those silly words which stay the same at the plural?

Blargh, English should never have been. Leave it to a bunch of Saxons to be raided by Vikings and French to create this sort of mess of a language. tongue

"homework" is usually uncountable whereas "work" is not, because consistency is for plebs!

'Work' meaning a job, task or place of employment is an uncountable. 'Work' in its meaning of a work of art is a countable. Damn dual-purpose words! :)

I feel sorry for smokers. Their bodies are being wrecked by an addiction that is almost impossible to curtail, everybody close to them gets second-hand smoke, and a lot of enjoyable physical activity is impossible for smokers.
