I support the Yin Yang Cherry Bomb.

Hm...

I like the visual pun, but it might confuse readers that this is about an actual bomb of sorts.

I like the light and dark glowy orbs from the game screenshot. That's pretty much as close as its possible to get to showing the entire trope in one image.

I find the dragon pretty terrible, actually. Not only does being half black and half white imply something more like Fashionable Asymmetry than a combination of opposing powers, it's also just aesthetically pretty ugly.

The literal Yin Yang Bomb is decent though, if we don't like the game screenshot.

The digifan in me wants to say Lucemon, if only for the Angel Wing/ Demon Wing split making it obvious.

[up] I still say that Light And Darkness Dragon fulfills that same niche (wing dichotomy), but does it a little better than Lucemon, because Lucemon's uniformly black coat sort of throws off the visual dichotomy a bit, while the Dragon's scale colors are split between black and white right down the middle.

they're both good, and for mainly the same reasons, but I just favor the Dragon a little bit more because of that.

Another Yugioh example; not sure if it gets the dark and light thing across.

Possibly. It certainly goes the same route as the Arc Rise Fantasia thing.

Still think I prefer the Dragon.

At any rate, there's definitely enough for a crowner. I'll get right on it.

Crowner's up.

And I would like to note that, while the cherry bomb image is a good visual pun, it could easily confuse readers into thinking that the trope is about an actual bomb.

Not really I think people will get the trope easily enough and an actual Yin-Yang Bomb is still very much covered by the trope. Its probably the best option IMO.

[up] There's a line like that? What happened to the mean value theorem?

Well, I wanted to keep votes coming in so it wouldn't just sink to the bottom. Crowner's should take priority since they have established options that need to be chosen upon.

The Sorcerer and the Dragon have switched places a few times.

That they have.

I'd be fine with either, but for different reason. Sorcerer shows him wielding light and darkness powers, whereas Dragon shows a creature that is part light, part dragon. They could probably both work.

I still think being half-white and half-black doesn't really show the trope at all. Are zebras an example? At least with the sorcerer we can see magical energy. Maybe if the dragon was breathing black and white fire or something. The crowner is very close though.

[up] I would post a picture of its attack, but the manga decided to make its Breath Weapon look like light, with the dark element kind of hard to see.

Not sure exactly how you could visualize light and darkness in breath, anyway, so I guess it's for the better.
