^Hm. I'm familiar with the game, so I'm not sure if the "good/evil" look of those two is just because I already know them. Anyone unfamiliar with it wanna comment on that?
Infinite Tree: an experimental storyThe embrace of souls looks more like the soul edge trying to get the other sword out of it or something.
The second one only has the wings doing it for me since everything else isn't really trying to give off a contrast in my eyes.

If people learned from their mistakes, there wouldn't be this thing called bad habits. Now, while I'm still partial to the Light and Darkness Dragon, I found another possibility, for your approval.
Now, obviously, it's too big; too many panels. I'm good with snipping out any of them. I just thought I'd show you all the possible shots: The lightball, the darkball, both at once, the merge, and the effect.
I said it was too big.
I just put them all together like that to show off all the possible panels, so that I could then cut it down to an appropriate size after getting opinions. Figured it'd be more efficient to do that rather than upload fifteen thousand combintions after getting the first panel shot down.
And you can't tell? I mean... one's golden and shining rays out, and the other's deep purple/red and sort of swirling...

I have a message from another time...If the last two panels were clear, I'd suggest the bottom three. The middle one is okay as a set up.
Fight smart, not fair.Nnnnnnope. "Ki" and "Magic" are not light and darkness, and either way, they look identical in those panels.
I know that scene. It's a good scene. It's just not a Yin-Yang Bomb.
I have a message from another time...![]()
That doesn't show a Yin-Yang Bomb because he's combining two of the same thing.
It is an apposing power/element combined to make something new. One draws from outside power and the other draws from power inside the body to create the "Ultimate style of fighting" They normally conflict with each other and cancel each other out.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!
The trope doesn't just cover "Light And Darkness" it covers any apposing forces such as Order And Chaos or Harmony Versus Discipline.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!OK, but, and this is important, the example you're giving us, however perfect an example it is of the trope itself, doesn't look like an example. It's two flashing masses of energy, both entirely white.
They're even shaped nearly identically.

I have a message from another time...The reason the video game shot works somewhat is that they're two different colored spheres.

I see your point (I would argue that the second panel alone would work but meh)
Winnar! Epic Visual Pun.
Crown Description:
Nominations for replacement images:

What about the explosion from the Angel Arms colliding in the Trigun finale? That blast creates a Sphere of Destruction that's actually colored like a Ying Yang symbol.
EDIT: Oops. Misunderstood the trope. Yeah, that won't work. Sorry.
