I'll give Dm C this when it came to Lilith going with tired burnout pornstar over Morrigan Aensland Megamilf edition was an interesting one.
Sadly it didn't help the boss battle
Ya fight the womb baby.
........ Man imagine how powerful that thing would have been if it grew up.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."My headcanon of DMC 2 is one that is a bit more canon-applicable than my "Dante sex monster" thoughts.
Dante's personality and lust are way off because he just killed his brother.
His mood is SERIOUSLY down.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.DMC 2 takes place after 1. A prequel novel had Dante go to an alternate universe where he had to fight and kill an evil version of Trish. That's why he was so sullen.
Admittedly, I think Dante's depression in 2 is very overstated.
I mean if you don't even have to buy the Dante Self-loathing ANGSTER with Zero social skills view the side material keep painting him as cause thats Bingo's fetish... Look the guy struck gold with Vergil's character revamp for DMC 3... everything else... not so much
if you take the games at face value
DMC 3: Cocky and self absorbed but Mans up seeing Lady's drive to set things right.
DMC 1: Still Cocky since he runs off to an obvious trap just for the chance to kill Mundus, Doesn't Kill Mundus, Apparently Kills Vergil for real and gets stuck with Trish... 'They ever explain what exactly revived Trish from Mundus killing her? Did the Sparda do it? Frankly she should have just stayed dead...
DMC 2: Is literally Dante in grieving mode but he still functions to save people and help others. like with Lady, Lucia running around being selfless motivates Dante and by the end of the game he seems to be at peace. - Fuck Before the Nightmare, Dante came back to Lucia at the end of DMC 2-
DMC 4: Dante really gets his smile back with finding out about Nero... to the point he can just leave Yamato with the kid since in away a part of Vergil lives on.
DMC 5: Dante is at his most irrational cause Vergil 'as far as he can figure' is pulling a 3... AGAIN except this time he is getting people killed on Purpose, harvesting them. Dante may have justified his brother's actions in 3 and with his death in 1 built him up as this tragic figure in his head... but this, Vergil has become no better than Mundus. The Asshole who ruined their lives out of spite for their father. Vergil is ruining peoples lives just to one up HIM.
Heck in 5 Dante still tries to talk down Urizen and is horrified when Urizen actually eats the Qliphoth Fruit. That is the moment Dante completely gave up on Vergil.
Disgusted, but not surprisedAnother thing to factor for Dante's closed off nature in 2 is that most of the demon bosses don't even speak. Only so much witty banter and antics you can dish out when your opposition can't even react to any of them. Note how he becomes a little more Dante-ish when dealing with Arius.
I mean Even Phantom doesn't talk... and he wouldn't fucking shut up
then again the one demon that does say anything to him...
gets
"Don't talk, Just Die." though it is Trismagia so.... Fuck Trismagia
Granted the actual reason isn't due to trauma or anything...
The Original Director 'WHO SHALL HAVE HIS NAME BLOATED FROM HISTORY" just didn't like Trash Talking Dante all that much and felt he needed to be a more traditional style badass of the Calm and reserved variety...
You know it worked for Samus
So last page about the exception of ugly demoness was interesting. Impressive that what made this thread active in the last 12 hours.
Kamiya or that other guy that no knows about?
... I said original and even made a joke about his Unpersoned nature
_____
Hideki Kamiya Directed DMC 1. Hence the confusion when you described Original director and didn't say DMC 2 anywhere.
Watch SymphogearHeck, Mundus is no exception either. While he initially presents himself as an awe inspiring angelic statue, as befitting his god complex, it's literally only skin-deep. Under that statue exterior he's a disgusting Blob Monster.

Disgusted, but not surprisedYou'd think a demon wouldn't care if people find him repulsive. I guess even lords of hell can feel image cautious.
Like I said, it's all about his god complex. Mundus' preferred form is a massive angelic statue - he likes playing up the image of divinity.
Disgusted, but not surprisedHim and Sanctus should get along great then.
Yes, Dante killed his brother in DMC 1.
He only kicked Vergil's ass in 3.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters. When you decide to settle your differnces with a dance off.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.So is that like a set-up for Dante to taunt like that or does he always respond like that?
He only does it at SSS rank
So we was discussing Pyron from Darkstalker and how he is apparently a nod to the idea that the Antichrist will be a Cosmic being from Mars
... which was Argosax's True form based on the same idea?
Argosax's appearance might be a reference to the biblical Legion, which was a being composed of multiple demons possessing a single man in the Gospel of Luke. Jesus meets the man in his possessed state and when he asked his name, the demon responded, "My name is Legion; for we are many." The demons begged Jesus to spare them the tortures of Hell and he banished the demons into a group of pigs, which drowned themselves in the Sea of Galilee.
Both Argosax and Legion are made up of multiple demons and both Argosax and Legion possessed a man and drove him insane.
I'm probably wrong on this one.
I think if the idea it was based on Legion its true form would have been even more of your powers combined boss. though would you really want that type of bullet hell from Griffon and Nefas?
Then again We're speculating on a about a six months worth of developed game.
I wouldn't be surprised if alot of it was Thats good just put it in at the end.
Then again Alot of the DMC 2 bosses do have thought into them and their creation... its just most of them are piss poor boss fights
Like Furiataurus works really well
His a Minotaur obviously but he has the same torture device aesthetic as the Finis Demons due to being based on the Brazen Bull Aka the Bull Shaped oven that people would be sacrificed in.
in alot of ways 2 has a some great ideas, Demon possessing a Skyscraper to fight you... it just happens alot of it is clunky or looks likes from Resident evil or Ninja Gaiden -Infested Tanks and Chopper-
I can definitely tell you that there have been no B.O.W tanks in RE yet.
Uncle Dante introduces Nero to his New Girlfriend... She's a Princess Dante has hit the jackpot XD
____
They kept Nero's Devil Trigger consistent
I assume the biosheth is lost due to the fact Red Queen isn't a devil arm

Remember that Lucia is an artificially created demon who was "disposed" of by Arius, which is how Matier found her.
It's entirely possible that Lucia is chronologically very young, appearance aside. Matier likely didn't hide the truth from her for that long.
Heck, Trish is likely in a similar boat - it's possible that Mundus may have created her just days before she met Dante.
Maybe V isn't the first character in this series to be much Younger Than They Look.
It's more like the artist is driven mad by all of the new ideas the Leanan sĂdhe keeps shoving in their head. So you don't really have to imagine it - it'd basically be Dante doing this, but forever:
Which makes it extra hilarious that Dm C's Succubus Poison is anything but. Though one has to remember that Succubi in folklore act through dreams. So maybe Poison can still look beautiful when seducing people in their dreams.
Edit:
Now that I think about it, maybe the Younger Than They Look thing is part of why Dante doesn't want to pursue a relationship with Lucia. He'd feel like a cradlerobber. As for Trish...I think the "looks like my mother" thing is more than enough of a turn-off already.
