If they were to bring in another summoner/Squishy Wizard character, I think you could have Patty learn magic and have her join the good fight. There's even a fan art somewhere of her in battle ready mode with Lucia and Beryl.

Nah, Vergil hates demons too. He just acknowledges that they are stronger than humans.

So while he would covet the strength of a demon, he would never willingly fuck one.

Probably does not help that most natural Demons are ugly as literal sin. Nevan is the sole exception so far.

No guys, you see. Vergil heard about casual sex, so then figured there might be something called competitive sex and decided to try his hand at it, but it didn't motivate him enough so he hit and quit it.

Except unlike Kyrie, Patty is actually from a family connected with devils. Her becoming a Squishy Wizard wouldn't actually be stretching belief. Plus if we need someone needs to be a V alt, it's much easier to retool an existing character than coming up with another new one just for that cause.

Easier? I wouldn't say its easier. I know some people would just rather prefer a character they know over a brand new character but thats preference not what is easier to make.

I mean I'm pretty sure some would prefer a new character rather then add An anime character to the roster and yet be another Not Dante's Girlfriend Dynamic

Eh, we can always have Vergil's remnant dark energy form into a new V. He can be the new brother, except he's 100% demon and much more chill.

Because DMC is basically just comic books anyway and this kind of weirdness happens all the time.

I wonder, is it only hybrids or artificially created demons that avoid this? Nevan seems like she was, in-universe and out, designed to seduce people and Lucia is also designed as an attractive, human-passing woman. Trish may not have been entirely for seduction purposes but there is no denying her appearance is very attractive.

Probably just a nonsense theory (it is) but it's something to think about.

Nevan's not an artificial demon. She is in fact a Leanan sídhe.

The artificial demons are Trish, Nightmare, the Angelo Armors, the Savior, the Secretaries (including Lucia), Gilgamesh (a Qliphoth root merged with demonic metal), and Artemis (a Devil Arm turned Demon after being merged with Lady).

Maybe V's familiars also count as artificial demons.

The only conventionally attractive Demons are Trish, Lucia / the Secretaries, and Nevan. And only Nevan is a pure-blood natural Demon. Trish's appearance is justified since she was specifically created in the image of Eva to mess with Dante's mind. Lucia and the Secretaries are attractive red-headed women because...Arius is a Dirty Old Man I guess.

So yeah, Nevan stands out as the sole exception when it comes to Demonkind. Heck, even Sparda was pretty freaky looking, being essentially a demonic insect knight.

As we see with Angler Fish Frog Demon, Demons don't really see much point in seducing when they can just eat you.

Most Demons would presumably find the idea of having sex with your food to be pretty gross. Assuming they even have the right anatomy for engaging in sex with humans.

It is telling that the only known hybrids in existence are Dante, Vergil, and Vergil's son Nero.

Demons in general don't see humans as anything other than walking bloodbags (remember that human blood is a potent source of power for Demons).

I watched the anime and thought there was another pair of hybrids.

Dante ended up killing them, of course.

They were just demons taking human guises.

Lucia's Clan is a Clan of Half breeds or granted if may have diluted

If Granny's statement of having fought with Sparda when he Killed Argosax is true.

Demons do oddly seem to like to lounge around in more non threatening forms though.

Dante just sucks at disarming scenarios 'He pretty much goads Modeus into attacking him'... or to be fair Modeus wasn't a hot chick nor his nephew.

Then again Dante probably figured if they were in the opposite sides of the scenario. Dante wouldn't stop till he killed the guy that killed his brother either...

though Dante IS the guy who killed his brother.

Maybe Dante didn't need someone else stealing his strawberry sundaes

No, the Protector Clan were never demons or demon hybrids. They were simply a tribe founded long ago.

Matier being old enough to have helped Sparda seal Argosax centuries ago may be a hint that she has demon blood...except judging by Dante's own aging it seems that hybrids' lifespan isn't much longer than a human lifespan. So there's probably something else at play when it comes to Matier.

And yeah, Baul and Modeus are not hybrids. They're pure demons who were the apprentices of Sparda prior to his Heel–Face Turn.

Lucia does claim that they have "the blood of the devils", which she attributed her powers to before realizing her true nature.

Presumably Matier never told her the truth and let her believe the other Protectors were like her.

Lucia is likely the only actual demonic member of the clan.

Missed this. I'll point out again that Nevan actually is not a succubus. She's a Leanan sídhe, supernatural beings from Irish folklore who were known to seduce artists and musicians and offer inspiration in exchange for love and devotion...though they tend to ultimately drive their mortal lovers to madness with said inspiration.

This probably explains why Nevan's Devil Arm form is a musical instrument.

If that's the case I wonder how she kept up that lie. Surely Lucia would have noticed that none of the other members had powers like her. Nevan's design is essentially a mish mash of various "sex demon" archetypes of mythology. In additon to what M84 said, she has fangs and is associated with bats just like a vampire and her personality and Ms. Fanservice looks are what is commonly associated with sucuubi.

Though I kind of wonder what a Dante who was "driven mad with devotion" would look like.
