Speaking of Platinum Games, what are the odds they would ever collaborate with Capcom?

I like to think there's a chance, but considering the reason why Platinum Games to begin with.

Most of the Platinum staff hold no ill will towards Capcom if Kamiya is any indication. The ball is in Capcom's court.

If they accept to collaborate there's quite a bit they could do. Forget a DMC and Bayonetta crossover, we could finally get sequels to Okami and Viewtiful Joe.

It should be illegal for that much sex appeal to be in a single video

And with a Viewtiful Joe Sequel, could be a final game after with Viewtiful Joe, The Wonderful 101 and whoever the protag of Project G.G. is named as a Superhero Team Up.

So is there any real reason why Capcom is incapable of doing a sequel? Especially after how well received DMC V got?

The difference being that the talent that made the preceding games in the DMC series stayed in-house, while the Viewtiful Joe and Okami devs moved out to Platinum. They could continue those series, but they'd be with completely new teams picking up the mantle.

Of note they already made a sequel to Okami on the DS. It's considered a decent game but it falls far from the original in the eyes of most.

Is slowdown a known issue for the Switch version of 3? I've only seen it happen once, but it was the second fight with Vergil and it was distracting. I'll have to see if it happens again, but I'm hoping it was just a one-time thing.

Edit: Never mind. I tried a few more times and didn’t have any technical problems.

I thought everyone who worked under Clover Studio left & formed Platinum Games?

Hmmm, a new Viewtiful Joe & Okami would be a lot risker than I thought.

Bit off topic, but I think I now know what a first-person gun focused DMC game would pretty much end up looking like.

Well if they bring back Hexen or Heretic and go with FPM approach...

There are only 3 days left, go buy it.

Yeah, it's been on sale. I got it the other day :) Not ready for it yet, but I'm on mission 18 of 3, so I'm close.

I do want to try playing other characters and trying higher difficulties in 3 and 4, but I also really want to get to 5, so I think I'll wait on that right now. I'll go back and do the extra stuff later, but I will do it. Or some of it, anyway. I'm not sure how many higher difficulties I'll have the patience for, but I really want to try playing as other characters, especially in 4SE.

Edit: I’m on the final boss of 3 now, but I’m taking a break, so I haven’t tried the mission yet. I’ll probably want to do one last sweep of earlier chapters for combo statues and secret missions and stuff. I’d imagine any extra health I can get will be worth it.

A 16-minute video by Champion Analysis that delves into Lady's character. Much of it is stuff that has already been covered but some things did stick out to me. Namely, his theory that Arkham had been planning to become a demon the moment he met Kalina Ann and that Lady might be viewing herself of "deserving" her abuse.

So I’m still on 4. Forget what number the mission is (15?) but I just got out of the forest as Dante. I don’t think it’ll take too much longer to finish the game, given how smoothly the last few missions went.

Anyone know exactly how many continues it takes before bosses get nerfed? That happened with some of the later bosses as Nero, and while it’s convenient for getting through the game the first time, I’d like to go back sometime and try those fights without it. I’d just need to know when to restart to avoid it. I think it’s either two or three continues. Anyone remember the specifics?

Also, it’s just a little thing, but I like that the light on the controller changes color depending on who you play as. Do the characters that were added to the special edition get different colors too? I still want to get through 5 before I go back and play as them, but I do want to do it. Wonder if 5 uses the lights like that too?

Speaking of which, 5 is half-off this month. Between this and the last sale, it looks like I picked a good time to get into the series. :)
