How about just remaking 2 with dmc5's engine?
This week on Spoilers Everyone Saw Coming
Where did they get that from?
Holy shit is Vergil, who could have seen this coming!!!...aside from basically everyone...
Quick everyone pretend to be shocked
And I was so sure it was secretly Agnus.
Father of the year!
I thought it was clearly DEMI-FIEND FROM THE SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI 3: NOCTURNE SERIES!!!
Demi-fiend would be dope
I'm pretty sure I already saw that video... like months ago
Its not like its hard to figure out and the game isn't really trying to hide it
https://www.vg247.com/2019/02/07/dragons-dogma-2/ Apparently Itsuno had the choice of heading Dragon's Dogma 2 instead of DMC 5, but he went with the latter.
You know, it doesn't say good things about the writing that goes into a series when you can just casually switch the order of games in the timeline.
Gameplay footage of V. The guy moves pretty quick for someone with a limp.
This reminds me when the Zelda timeline switched around link's awakening and the Oracle games, but on a much smaller scale.
Not in this case. It's special for this one because said entry that got shuffled was a development mess that was eventually farted out to make the deadline, and had little to no story as a result. Everything after that had a consistent creative team (With blessing from the former creator).
Man I died three times before I beat Goliath and I only got a B, I have not gotten better with age. Either way, Stylish/CUHRAZY, the full game dropping's gonna give us a taste of the good shit.
Also I heard we were talking about confirmed motivation◊ (contains shirtless Quantum Ranger, shamelessly stolen from here)
Also, nobody's ever pretended people play DMC for its storyline (barring some minor reappraisal of 3's plot in recent years for some reason).
Cheesy hammy plots and dialogue is one thing. A badly planned timeline is another.
It's clear that they don't really care for 2, and as far as they're concerned, 3>1>Anime>4>5 is the timeline.

Considering all the problems with 2, I can understand them willfully ignoring it.
The only way it can be brought back if it gets remade into a complete game.
I actually met a guy who hated hack n slash games but "played them for the story" he only played god of war 1 and the dmc4 reboot lol. I guess it's good if you aren't "spoiled" by 3 or 4.
Hell he was shocked that there were other games besides the reboot. That's why I hate talking about dmc with some people, the reboot has snuffed out dmc1-5 for some people and it's kinda annoying explaining the continuity to someone :/. Also, we all now smt3 is the real dmc2
When the timeline has barely any bearing on the actual story, who cares where 2 fits in? The character of Dante basically received a complete rework for 3 - which was justified in that it was a prequel and they used that to portray a more immature version than had been seen before (and also because it was the first game where the new director had control over the project from the start) - and that went over so well they kept that new 'Itsuno-Dante' for 4 (and now, 5) albeit with the character development he received during 3.
Kamiya-Dante is wisecracking and cool, but he's not the party pizza boi that Itsuno-Dante became, and 2-Dante is a silent and stoic character, almost completely the opposite of the modern Dante. Trying to bring these characterisations together into a cohesive narrative is (and should be, I reckon) at the bottom of the priority list for Capcom and Itsuno. The DMC fandom is involved enough to understand the Doylist reasons for why this happened, so we don't really need a Watsonian justification.
Just let us slay demons with Party Devil Boi, Punk Cyborg Boi and Goth Pokémon Boi and we're fiiine.
(But also give us Motivation Boi, MUTHER and Best Girl as playable characters too please thnx.)
Nero sure has some weight to him in the brief time I played last night.
I don't know why DMC never crossed over again...
Dante would be a perfect fit for Digital Devil Saga
Yup. Blue Rose is very much a Hand Cannon now (or if you considered it one of these in 4, they've very much doubled down on it) and his roll his slower (presumably to give more invincibility frames). His movement has more momentum as well, he doesn't stop immediately in place when the left stick goes back to neutral.
