Also it looks like Dante gets a bo-staff as a weapon.
Trailer stuff: Dante does the same doggy taunt from 3, so I assume we'll be getting the new Cerberus weapon from a new Cerberus boss. Possibly with an ice head, a fire head, and a lightning head. Also, it appears Majin Devil Trigger is back from 2!
V summons a bird, a panther that may be a Shadow from the first game, and a giant golem that has a laser attack. He also teleports and uses Summoned Canes. Hmmmmmmmmm. And looks like his Devil Trigger turns his hair white for the obvious DmC reference.
Holy shit that Devil Trigger performance was... not what I expected.
Here's a Capcom Unity blog post detailing V and the 'cameo system'.

"Shake the dust." - Anis MojganiCameo system looks interesting AF. Also more of an excuse to slap "Featuring Dante from the Devil May Cry series" on more stuff.
Bleye knows Sabers.Oh nice! So it's not just that V's panther is a Shadow, the bird is Griffon and the big blob golem is Nightmare.
Okay this all means something and I'm very curious what exactly.
I'm also curious on how V is gonna be upgraded. Is he gonna get new familiars especially from beaten bosses like Goliath?
As well as how is he fighting Goliath cause I thought he was Nero's boss?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."It's implied Goliath encountered V before Nero in his cutscene. Presumably, this will also be how they'll be reusing bosses, which I'm fine with.
"I'll show you fear, there is no hell, only darkness." My twitterV moves pretty quick for a guy who walks with a limp.
I'm not reading the spoilers I just felt left out.
Bleye knows Sabers. On the bright side we are getting a demo tomorrow.
The bad side is that its an Xbone exclusive.
Anyone here got an Xbone?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Someone noticed that if you raise the pitch of Urizen's voice he sounds very similar to Vergil.

Huh considering how the main plot of the game has to start afterwards far enough for Nero to acclimate to his new arm then it makes a scary amount of sense that Urizen could be Vergil.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."V's theme, henceforth known as "Crimson Cloud":
I don't like V's theme that much... Devil Trigger raised my expectations too high
Apparently you can choose which character you want to play each level with, depending on which characters are actually there in the story.
From the leaked footage it looked like maybe Urizen is possessing Vergil so... draw your own conclusions.
Crimson Cloud isn't a style of music I personally enjoy but it fits V like a glove.
Probably old news by now, but I just saw it, so enjoy.
V: A powerful demon is about to resurrect and we need your help Dante.
Dante: Did you just read the wikipedia entries for the first three games?
"Look, I don't write villains, I just try to stop them"
Someone pointed out that the lyrics of Subhuman probably refer to Dante losing his humanity as he uses his Majin Devil Trigger against Urizen and that there's a chance for a boss fight against full demon Dante. It's one the less insane theories out there.
Playing the demo(which was too short) and it's great but I do have a few concerns
- the hit effects sound way too weak, hoping capcom beefs them up in the final release.
- not sure if I like Nero being able to lose access to his devil bringer by losing all his arms. Considering how some attacks seem only escapable by using break off this feels like a potential Scrappy Mechanic.
- nero's battle theme freakin sucks. Doesn't get me hype at all.
- Enemy designs are pretty boring so far. If there's one thing DMC 4 had over DMC 3 was its regular enemies(DMC 3's honestly weren't good) but so far this feels like a step back, hoping the demo just used the bottom of the barrel.
- the new girl's accent is unappealing.
- Nero's regular dodge seems slow and not very responsive. His gerva or whatever it's called arm's trickster-esque dodge is incredible though, you can stay in the air for what seems like forever haha.
- Nero not being able to freely switch between arms is silly. Just seems like a really dumb design choice. Worst is that he switches to whatever one you just picked up, so if say you're using the green one, and you pick up overture(the blue one), then you're stuck with overture unless you use break off(which destroys the equipped arm) to get back to the green one.
Goliath was okay though. He doesn't have the cool factor of belial or cerebus but as a first boss he's a solid enough fight. As long as you don't lose your arm he's not that difficult. The way the level gets destroyed as you're fighting him is pretty cool. I also like how the transition during the battle changes slightly depending on whether or not he hits you with a certain attack.

I immediately zoned out after that.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
Booo.
