That is the strangest thing I've read in some time. An Alan Moore comic about the Kool-Aid man. Wow.

I was wondering if he was going to bring up Jim Jones. Moore did not disappoint.

Damn. I . . . I just don't know what I can say about this.

Embroiled in slave rebellion, I escaped crucifixion simply by declaring 'I am Vito', everyone else apparently being called 'Spartacus'.

Given that this and this are my all-time favorite collections of Moore's work, this story does not surprise me at all. In fact, I kinda like it; it's representative of Moore's totally amazing sense of humor that I much rather prefer to remember him for.

In fact, here's another story on the same exact blog that Moore and Dave Gibbons worked on before Watchmen that's just as surreal.

That was just horribly cruel and somewhat brilliant at the same time.

An useless name, a forsaken connection.

And I thought my mind wasn't a sane place to take a vacation. I can only imagine what kind of idle musings Alan Moore has on a regular basis.

This comic makes fun of Moore better than any other I have seen. Or rather, it stopped me taking his work so seriously. Which is a good thing. Or rather, I can look at other stuff he's written and see the funny side.

[up][up]Hey, from the right angle, Watchmen is pretty hysterical. Only if you're viewing it from the outside, though, which just goes to show how crazy The Comedian really was.

Moore himself isn't humourless, it's just that his fans tend to turn all his work into Serious Business.

Alan Moore is actually a very funny man; in fact, before he got picked up by DC, he was primarily known for his humorous comics.

Try and pick up DR And Quinch some time; it's absolutely hysterical.

Alan Moore? THE Alan Moore? The Alan Moore who wrote Watchmen, had one of the best runs of Swamp Thing ever, and made Supreme awesome? Wow, just wow.

"Mom, Dad, my sisters, they'd all be crying. And me? I'd be grinning like a fucking idiot."

Yup, that....just about says everything, doesn't it?

Wow. He made a Black Comedy about the bloody Kool-Aid Man?

But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you.
