That's a criticism I can understand. I found it funny, but I can certainly see why others wouldn't.
"Delenda est." "Furthermore, Carthage must be destroyed." -Common Roman saying at the end of speeches.I did quite like the cast, though. Martin Freeman, Mos Def, Zooey Deschanel, Sam Rockwell, Bill Nighy, and Alan Rickman all in one film? I'm not gonna complain.
Upon a sorta-rewatch (I skimmed bits) it was actually better than I remembered, though. I still didn't really find it laugh-out-loud funny, but it was at least mildly amusing, clever and fun. And I didn't mind the Arthur/Trillian romance so much like a lot of people. But I still think it's the weakest version of Hitchhiker's that I've experienced (don't have enough experience to talk about the text adventure, although I do know a lot of it by reading pages on it - like the fact that it's notoriously difficult even for an adventure game).

Didn't Drive just come out in theaters yesterday?

Yes and a lot of people are already calling it a pretentious and boring mess. Of which it's neither. People were expecting a lot of the former.
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/I doubt anybody that went into Fast Five were expecting much at this point. I think they got exactly what they were expecting by this point.
I meant to say that more people were expecting something like The Fast and the Furious series when entering Drive. It's more like the early work of Michael Mann.
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/Ah, that makes more sense.

Underrated: The Wisdom of Crocodiles
Come sail your ships around me, and burn your bridges down.Actually anything by Shyamalan that isn't The Village or Lady In The Water,or The Sixth Sense (For the opposite reasons of the former two of course) is underrated. I mean The Last Airbender ahad a great ending that fit with the medium and Dev Patel was decent, but it's still terrible. And The Happening is hilarious, completely like a B movie, and those who hated it missed the point entirely.
But I think out of all of Shyamalan's films, none is more underrated than Wide Awake. It proved before Haley Joel Osment came on the scene that Shyamalan can direct kids when he isn't on an ego trip. The premise was kind of heartwarming, and even Rosie O'Donnell was tolerable. It's Shyamalan's best film ever,...after The Sixth Sense.
It's sad that it flopped.
Also I'd argue Christopher Nolan in general to be overrated

"Contests fought between two masters are decided instantly. An invisible battle is now raging between the two of them." Lulu vs SchneizelBecause it had the misfortune of being a completely serious Dr. Strangelove.
I didn't write any of that.is that a bad thing?
"Contests fought between two masters are decided instantly. An invisible battle is now raging between the two of them." Lulu vs SchneizelI don't think it's a bad thing, but I've see at least one film critic say it is. I can certainly understand why a black comedy about mutually assured destruction would be a lot more popular than a serious drama on the same subject.
I didn't write any of that.Yet... the serious film ended on a more hopeful (re: Bittersweet) note.
weird

On the subject of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: It's one of my favourite movies ever, but I can totally see why it didn't get mainstream success, and why some would dislike it. Therefore, I'd not going to label it underrated. It's definitely not a film for everyone.

Scott Pilgrim Vs The World was not necessarily a bad movie or a bad adaptation, but it could have been better. If the same effort (especially special effects) that went into making it was put into The Last Airbender, the latter would have been awesome.

More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/Totally agreed on Home Alone 2:Lost in New York It's not that bad,if you don't take it seriously. I never did,it was all about the traps as far as I could tell.
Now The Goonies is kind of overrated
Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter
I don't mind that it's not faithful - every version of Hitchhiker's is different on purpose. I just don't like how little humor there is, which is obviously the kiss of death for something like Hitchhiker's. I just never laughed at anything in that movie at all. They took too many of the good jokes away.
