7/10. I'm amazed that someone's posted a band/artist from before the mid-fifties.

Anthrax. Aha! You cannot kill the metal! The metal will live on!

3/5. Passable. Then again, I've only heard the remix they did with Public Enemy, so...

Fats Domino.

8/10. Amazing musician. Certainly one of the best of his generation.

Now, should I go for a metal band, or not? Let me see... you know, I think I'll compromise. If it counts as a compromise. Two bands, one metal, one not metal. You can choose one or both, I don't mind.

The metal band: Primus. The non-metal band: Reel Big Fish.

Primus: 2/5. God-DAMN, are they overrated. Okay, I can see their appeal for some people, but their music has no real energy to it, and Les Claypool's voice sounds hideous.

Reel Big Fish: I haven't listened to any of their songs.

Did we do Kraftwerk already?

7/10. I don't know if we've already done Kraftwerk, sorry, so I'll rate them anyway. While I'm not an absolutely huge fan, I enjoy their music and find it sad that they're not more well-recognised; hell, they're one of the most influential bands of the past 30 years. Without them, we wouldn't have much in the way of electronic music (yes, it existed before; but Kraftwerk made it popular).

Now, should I assimilate the thread into the Metal Collective again? Screw it: Tool.

7/10 Fun yet a cause of wait wut

At the risk of opening a Flame War, Metallica.

INT is knowing a tomato is a fruit. WIS is knowing it doesn't belong in a fruit salad. CHA is convincing people that it does.

9/10. Really awesome band. Although I prefer their earlier stuff, I like their later stuff too. Except for St. Anger.

Time for even more flame bait (and, it seems, more metal)! Megadeth. They've already been mentioned in the thread. I don't care.

17/20 Also awesome, though the line-up changes can be grating. Also, Risk never existed.

The Rolling Stones

6//10 I like some of their stuff, but I don't think they're as great as some people do.

6/10. They're pretty good, overall. Quite different to what I usually listen to, which is possibly the explanation for the average rating.

Now, next band/artist... ah, here's something different: Weird Al Yankovic.

8/10 Some of his lyrics tend to become about the food he likes, but it's otherwise very good, and really funny.

6/10. Relatively decent power metal band, but I've heard many much better bands of the genre.

The Misfits.

7/10 - good, but too violent for my taste. Catchy tunes, thought.

Metallica

6/10 Not my cup of mercury (I do like some metal, honsetly!), but they have some pretty good songs.

The (International) Noise Conspiracy

XRotNRollX (4 Score & 7 Years Ago)

6/10. Pretty good, pretty weird. Not hugely fussed on post-rock (which is weird, considering that I love prog rock).

Sunny Day Real Estate. Because nobody rated them last time.

7/10. Super whiny and the guitarist couldn't play in time, but otherwise okay. Even Taking Back Sunday have more muscle (music-wise).

cLOUDDEAD.

7/10. Although I'm not that fussed on the music itself, they get kudos for sheer originality.

This one may cause Internet Backdraft (or not, because that stuff never happens on TV Tropes, unfortunately): Nirvana.

AAAAARGH GET THE METAL OFF OF ME... Public Image Ltd. I don't think they're metal.

7/10. Far more musically talented than the Sex Pistols, although I like both bands.

Yon Troper:: Yeah, it's true, Job for a Cowboy are probably the only deathcore band worth listening to.

Now, just to ALLOW METAL TAKE OVER THIS THREAD AGAIN annoy a couple of tropers... Iron Maiden.
