Speaking of emulation, I wonder how long it'll take before homebrewers make some for various 3D systems (3DO, Saturn, PSX, N64, PSP, 3DFX-era DOS) to take advantage of its screen? This is already done with PC shutterglasses setups by having the stereo driver snarf the z-buffer from the HLE's GL/D3D output. It'll probably occur much sooner if Nintendo continues refusing to make a handheld VC service, which indeed appears to be the case so far.
Anyone else hoping that Gamestop will do a trade in deal for the 3DS? I am completely frelling broke so that would rock.

Actually, it's hardware tricks like the 3DS' true 3D display that will probably be the biggest deterrent to pirates. Even if you emulate the game code perfectly you'll still be missing out on an essential part of the experience.
Well, there are PC graphics systems that emulate 3D perspective but I expect that Nintendo will have already made enough profit by the time crackers can get 3DS games to work with those.
