Kallen's cellphone buzzed.
She read the text.
"Umm... Oghi, did you send Amando a message?"
"No, I haven't seen my phone in a while."
"Ooookay then."
Kallen sent a text.
"We're safe. I think you must have gotten the wrong number. Oghi doesn't have his phone."

It was over. As soon as James feet met with the ground, all the will that was powering him begun to wear off, his body increasingly feel heavier. His brain had finally realized he had been running on adrenaline all this whole time, and now demanded rest.
"Ugh". His rested against the solid, metallic leg of the Gloucester, as he wobbled forwards outside the hangar. He could use some rest after all that data lost. All that people's data. He could've been one. Arthur and Suzaku, and even Hartell could have been. He felt his sides throbbing. One thing had been the drills, the other had been directly shoved in the heart of the battlefield.
It didn't help they had faced several super-prototypes.
His body never allowed him to reach the others in rendezvous, it arched and convulsed, making James turn back and find a secluded spot. There was none.
And then his breakfast came out from his mouth, directly splattered on a conveniently placed bin. His stomach convulsed a few more times before being quelled to rest.
"Excuse me for this unsightly display." He managed to mutter.

"It's fine. You're an idiot kid, but a brave one," Hartell replied, "We've managed to find a lot of people in the wreckage, not the least of which was a second one of the missing Mercenaries. He was piloting the Frame. Not a damn thing in it is recognizable, must be the Eleven Prototype the first one mentioned, but it was probably the Lancelot Club, Code Name: Hector. Only one left is the Hound of Shinjuku himself. Yuuka, you can help me with interrogation. James, you are free to return to Ashford if you so desire."

Alaois turned to look at the Gurren.
"So where'd that beauty come from?" he asked. "Another prototype from that... what was it, Rakshata? What it did to what I think was a frame was pretty impressive, but getting up close and personal isn't exactly my preferred style."
He looked around again, searching for Amando. Usually he'd have given some order or something to start a takeover of the rebellion of the rebellion of... wait, did it go any further than that? Whatever.
"Hey, has anyone seen Garcia?"
Hey look!. Yu-Gi-Oh meets wrasslin'!James struggled to not stay affected by the bad taste in his mouth after the ordeal. He stood upright and answered. "I'll take that as a compliment. Are you sure it's okay to leave? I mean, I could...well dunno, hack that cellphone and make it spew Glorious Dataa?" He said the last sentence in a manner, not unlike Lloyd.
Yuuka entered the room. Before her were too dead guards. Sitting a top the ejection seat was the mercenary, one of the three whose photos they had seen. He was Damon Galters. His psych profile was a mile long, doctors could never peg him down with an single diagnosis, it seemed lightly to be a combination of several. Sociopath was on the top of almost every list however.
His clothes were not ripped or stained, there did not appear to have been any scuffle. He seemed calm. He smiled and tilted his head in a affably, even friendly manner, "Well, Hello."
Meanwhile.
"We could use all the supervision we can acquire. With Arthur's concussion and Yuuka dealing with the second prisonner, I want to deal with this Zero of ours."
Hartell entered the top level of the G1 base where in they were keeping Amando along side Suzaku and James. Gwared had recently received word confirming that the contract was legitimate. The question now was what to do with him.
Meanwhile...
"We head to our base," Zero spoke, "Asplund, I assume you'll be able to repair the leg?"
"It's heavily damaged, so don't expect it back in commission anytime soon. It'll probably be a lot of patch work..." Lloyd sighed, "I miss back when I was able to just order these parts."
Hartell signed, "Look, I didn't sign up for this kid. You fought well out there, I have to admit. You're a smart kid but you act like a moron sometimes. Tone yourself down, that's the only difference kid. A bit of dignity and composure. Bite your tongue once in a while and you'll be fine."
"Sir, I hate to interrupt but the contracts have confir-"
"That does not remove the suspicions of treason."
"There's also proof that the message claim he is Zero was forged."
Hartell looks at the most recently sent message.
"You do realize that in about 24 hours they will mark him as captive, if they have not already."
Hartell looked at Amando, "Now, Mr. Garcia. You have a lot to answer for as well as in your capacity as informant, a lot to tell us. Why is it that you never reported in until we had your base of operations surrounded? It would almost appear as though you were merely defecting in light of certain defeat. Why is it that you forgot the landslide? Why is it that you didn't offer a lead on this Zero fellow sooner? Why did you never attempt assassination on either Finn or Zero?"

"Ah, but just ordering the parts takes the fun out!" Alaois said sarcastically. "Or, instead of legs, you could just build it into a jet fighter Frame."
Hey look!. Yu-Gi-Oh meets wrasslin'!It took every bit of Yuuka's willpower to stop her from bolting or pulling out a gun and shooting wildly at the man. If he was as dangerous as Yuuka judged him to be, it's not like any of them would help. Better not to make any...sudden movements.
She gulped and gave off a matching smile. "Ah, hi. Nice to meet you."

"I didn't steal it; I'm borrowing it until I die."Note: see discussion thread for more details on the phone.
"Awwww, but you were so interested just a few seconds ago! Now you're just going to steal my phone and waltz off somewhere so you can manhandle it?" Amando half-grinned as the object in question emitted a conspicuous buzzing sound, Juiz's voice quietly announcing that the young Knight's fingerprint was unrecognized. "That thing is worth an entire year's salary. I'd better not find it damaged when I get it back later, kid." I'd like to see him try and hack it... I just hope he doesn't dismantle it or anything. I like that phone.
"But getting back to your questions," he nodded at Hartell, "I've been unable to report because I've been spending all my time scouring for intelligence on the JLF and Zero. I completely understand why you're skeptical, even though I don't like it, and on top of that I had little idea of who to report to, so I was waiting until I had something useful to tell you. Speaking of which, I don't understand why Zero wasn't utilizing that new frame to a greater degree... anyway, I've unfortunately had little success so far in determining anything about his identity or his specific battle plans. This is less a result of my capabilities as a spy, and more a byproduct of his extreme paranoia."
Amando grimaced. "He's never shown his face to anyone before, and he didn't tell anyone about his intent to cause an avalanche. I have to wonder sometimes about the willingness of the Black Knights to follow him without question, even when they've never seen behind his mask. It's kind of eerie and cult-like, to be honest, but they hold me, the one who 'saved' them at Shinjuku," he used air-quotes, "in almost as high a regard as they do him, so it's not all bad. It certainly helps in gathering intel. For example, they were already planning beforehand to splinter from the JLF after this battle, although they haven't formally announced it yet.
"As for that last question... well, it's not in my contract. I've just been hired to spy on the rebels, not assassinate them. Unless my contract is re-negotiated to order it, I'm definitely not going to risk compromising my intelligence-gathering mission for the sake of killing off only two figures in the rebellion, especially when four more will probably pop up in their place."

"I actually had it commissioned as an alternative payment for a job I did several years ago, so I can't give you an exact number," the mercenary's lips twitched, "Let's just say it's a lot."

Meanwhile...
"Yet you know he caused it?" Hartell smiled, "There was a lot of shell fire and premade JLF traps, for someone who wasn't aware of anything before hand, that is quite the leap of faith."
"Well, that's one difference with me, then, good sir. I have access to resources that allow me to hire people like you.Or eventually, develop toys for the likes of you." He said, while unscrewing the anthenna. "I may be a child, but on this field, I have some knowledge. Without this it won't be able to establish a proper connection, given that we're surrounded by a faraday cage. Next."
He unscrewed the battery. "With this, it'll halt if not greatly hamper the CPU process. Something with so many measures it's going to burn a lot of batteries".

"Well, I can't say I'm totally comfortable with you removing components from my phone," Amando frowned, shifting a little, "but just as long as you can put it back together and it retains all its functionality, go ahead. I'm sure you wouldn't mind paying for a replacement if it breaks, though, since you've so many resources."
He turned back to Hartell, "Mmmm, perhaps you're right and I'm giving him too much credit, but I don't see how the kind of small-scale traps the JLF were using could dislodge an entire mountainside. I do know the Black Knights were positioned at about the ridge where the slide seems to have started, however, and although I never considered the possibility of Zero using the terrain as a weapon before, it seems like far too much of a coincidence for a landslide to happen in just a place that's advantageous to him.
"I have a hypothesis as to how he may have done it, too. The seventh-generation Knightmare I described to you before is dangerous primarily because its hand emits a kind of radiation that superheats the metals in Frames, creating a chain-reaction that causes them to explode. Imagine what would happen if that reaction was applied to a reservoir of water, as we might find at a mountain."

He then paused. "Now, I'm going to spend time alone with this naked preciousity." He said, while rubbing the half-dismantled cellphone."I'm going to extract GLORIOUS data from it!" He added, in a sort of manner that reminded too much to a bispectacled sociopath scientist. He said, while strolling off to find tools he could use.

With a soft chime, an identical gold-colored icon filled the phone's screen for a moment before fading into an outline. Words began to scroll across as the software booted up, a pleasant female voice reading them as they appeared, "Seleção system... Active. Juiz... Online. Orders?"
"Write text message to K.K."
"Password required."
"Activate security override."
"Understood. Security override engaged." A singular text box appeared, cursor blinking.
"Did you get out okay? Sabotaging the Brits now, not safe. Ask the Captain about the text he sent, it came out garbled. Will call you as soon as I can. Juiz, send it."
"Sending... message sent. Is there anything else you require?"
"Nothing else for now, Juiz. Thank you."
"I am happy to be of service." The outline in the background faded out as 'Juiz' shut down.
