I did not get that feeling having read the page at all.
To me, this appears to be something deserving of being a subtrope of Technology Marches On.

Well, for one thing, it needs a rename. Think about it: if you feel you need to explain the operating word in a snowclone trope title in the trope article, something is less than optimal.
How about Graphics Will Not Be Better In The Future?
(edit: I realize the question was about what could be done about the description, but I suspect the current title is responsible for many of the examples that don't fit.)

Our Graphics Will Suck in the Future.
Now for the description...
"The picture on the left is what Star Trek predicted your computer monitor would be able to display."
"The picture on the right is what your computer monitor actually can display".
Also: Subtrope of Technology Marches On, not "related to". Or even better "This is a subtrope of Technology Marches On and a particularly egregious one at that because the evidence is before your very eyes."
Otherwise, I think the description does its job. I will start to move some examples to Technology Marches On.

So we all in favor of a rename to Our Graphics Will Suck in the Future?

Read through We Will Use Micros In The Future. That's alright, I'll wait.
Anyway, ALOT of the example in the page - and I would not hesitate to even say the majority, do not fit this this trope. The trope is about "In-Story" computer displays in a futuristic setting being more primitive than the present. The trope is clearly limited to graphics and displays. But most of the examples simply lists whatever Schizo Tech the setting has, or whatever example of Technology Marches On rather than limiting themselves to the specific subset the trope describes. See all the mentions of tapes, CDs and storage device. Now, cleaning up the bad examples is easy enough, but perhaps we can figure how to keep them from returning?
