I do love how adaptable the franchise is. I have a hard time thinking of any scenario that isn't improved by the addition of Pokémon.
Try adding Pokémon to any Shakespearean play, especially the romantic comedies.
Picture a Norman Rockwell painting of a family seeing their 10-year-old boy off on his Pokémon journey, Charmander in his arms.
Even WWII is at least more epic, though probably even more deadly too.
Then there's my oft-mentioned wish to see a Pokémon Space Opera.
Do you highlight everything looking for secret messages?^^ Pokemon is slowly but surely likely to dethrone mario as the highest selling game series of all time sometime soon.

Watch SymphogearSo is this just a thread to casually discuss Pokemon in general? If so, can we not talk about Generation V until it's in America?
Contribute. Or else.Because Super Smash Bros. and The Legend of Zelda were complete flops, huh? And New Super What Bros.?
...Anyway I saw the first three movies. All three in cinemas.
I think Pokémon in the Whoniverse might make an interesting mix.

Mario had a decade-headstart yet the Pokémon franchise has almost caught up. I was imprecise to say "2000s" since Mario really picked up circa 2006, but in the late nineties and early 2000s it was all Pokémon. Adding up everything from Yellow to 2004 gives me about 87 million in sales; Mario, about 56. I didn't count Zelda but it probably doesn't come even close.
It Just Bugs MeIts ability to just sell and sell and sell and fucking sell just amazes me.
Black and White look EXTREMELY promising. They really went all-out. I especially can't wait for the 3rd game and the remakes of Ruby and Sapphire. Generation III was my favorite.
Unfortunately, Generation V is likely the end. Come on, how comfortable do you think the executives would be thinking of Pokemon #666? Granted, we already have a #108... meh, we'll see what happens.
Anyways, I've finally got some downtime after helping my dad move all day (I'm in my old bedroom keeping his dog company), so I'll use that time to chat with you guys and play the metric crapton of Pokemon games I brought with me. I think I'll start by re-playing Sapphire, this time starting with Torchic. Or maybe I'll revisit my Platinum for a little while beforehand.
By the way, while I'm not up to Wi-fi battles in Platinum (I'm a real bitch about my no-loss-perfectionist thing I do in most Pokemon games), I'll be running through Pearl and Soul Silver soon, so I'll battle and trade post-Elite 4.

Oh lets not be Silly. Nintendo is a business, businesses primary goal is to make money, Pokemon generates that money. Therfore Pokemon games will continue to be made as long as they sell like hotcakes with free money and sex.
Pokemon 666 controversy is nothing more than a minor bump in the road.
/BCVM 22 wannabe rant over.
I'm having to learn to pay the priceWell it's not like 666 would be the only reason for the possibility of no Generation VI. But yeah, it is really likely. Granted, it's a little too early to be saying anything about Generation VI right now, isn't it?
What do you think the titles for the Ruby and Sapphire remakes will be?
Contribute. Or else.
It's pretty obvious. Generation I was remade in Generation III. Generation II was remade in Generation IV. It's a clear pattern. And kind of necessary since they dropped backwards compatibility with the GBA once the D Si came into play.
Well it's not like 666 would be the only reason for the possibility of no Generation VI
Than what other reasons for no Gen VI games are there? The Stock Phrase of "They're running out of ideas!" is bullshit because 1. There are over 1 billion species of animals with more being discovered each day 2. they don't only confine making Mons out of living things, but non-living things like rocks, home and Kitchen appliances, bells, garbage bags, icicles etc. 3. Creatures from various mythologies and are adapted into Pokemon. There are essentially infinity + 1 things to make into Pokemon.
dunno, who says there will be remakes?
Pattern. Also Money, Dear Boy.

I'm having to learn to pay the priceOh God, I fell in love with this franchise when I was a little kid and I still obsess over it. I devour every morsel about the series that comes this way. And when Black and White make it Stateside I will probably faint.
Hell, I even write fanfic about Pokemon. I am not ashamed. It is seriously like the best thing ever.
I too write Pokemon fanfiction without shame
. (And yes, anything I add to that page is Word of God.)
I gotta say the appeal of catching them all is very appealing. Hell give me a second DS and a week or so and I could fill out every spot in the pokedex except for Darkrai(unless I decide to abuse tweaking in my Pearl game) Arceus and Celebi.

How.
How has this not been made yet?
The second best-selling video game franchise of all time, FUCK YEAH!
