Hm, that's a tough one. I'm sure you do, but I don't know that I know you well enough to figure out which one it is.

Okay, I'll make sure to search through their discography and see if there is something that may fit.

I'd put dibbs on I'm Going Slightly Mad if I hadn't already allocated it to another troper in this thread. ^_^;

AHR is an Alanis Morissette song.

My Queen theme is Don't Stop Me Now.

I don't listen to Queen (or bands in general, really), so I have no idea what song of theirs (or song in general, really) might fit me.

Not sure if it counts as theme song, because, alas, it does not characterise this one at all. Although this one wished it did. But this song, heard back when this one was a child, pretty much formed this one's attitude. Almost everything this one believes in can be traced to this song. You don't teach a 5 years old to Rage Against the Heavens and expect her to turn out normalgrin Heh, now this one understands that the lyrics are lackluster and rather common for an angsty artsy youth. But that's how it was

Also, this one has no idea how to do a poetic translation, so she just gave up on that and simply went with (almost) word for word

Step by step, without a trace

Through the woods and through paths hidden

Covering the light

Night goes over blurred shadows

That's no raven flapping it's wings

No owl sighed in the deep forest

No devil dancing among the stars

But the heart beating ever quicker

The light of young moon in the sky

Under the sky - rivers of roads

Ever walking them, ever north

Shades of those who are gone forever

That's no wolf crying on a hilltop

Nor a warrior sharpening sword

It is him, singing over the sleeping land

Minstrel darker than night

Oh, Great Creator of the [World/Light? both can be used]

Almighty glorious Eru

Why is he branded by death

He who chose his belief for himself?

Was he guilty of knowing the truth?

Or the truth destined [only for] Valar

And mortals have but one right

To be an obedient, blind herd?

Was he guilty of impudence?

Of not acknowledging the rules?

Of being harsh in his songs

To those ruling over mortal kin?

Of going not where they were sending?

Of being as a lone wolf?

Is that why he is named

Minstrel Darker than Night?

[He] Choose his own pathways

Sang only of what he'd seen

Did not want to be anyone's serf

White lies and flattery - hated

Years - along the razor's edge

Fingers bloody of singing strings

[[do you]]Remember how proudly he walked

Walked into fire by scarlet runes?

Oh, Great Creator

Throw away your mask and answer directly

Why was executed by Light

The heretic who knew the truth?

Let the time, as a worm, gnaw on stones

And swords and arrows grow dull

Still it sounds, a shard of truth

The voice of Dark Minstrel

If we disagree, that much, at least, we have in common
