Well it finally happened. AVGN takes on the mother of them all, Action 52.

I kinda liked the episode.
It was probably my favorite ever. It... had, like, actual jokes. And maybe I'm just going insane, but I think his voice is changing and he's starting to actually act and go beyond his repertoire of Standard Voice and Angry Voice. Good comedic timing, too.
I was surprised he left Cheetahmen as a cliffhanger, but wow at the game. A price of $199 is bad enough, considering even shareware compilations sell at normal price, but when every single game is either uninspired, broken, or unplayable, that's a major rip-off.
I was pleasantly surprised he went back to shitty games since his most recent videos focussed on other aspects.
Next episode is obviously Cheetahmen and/or Cheetahmen II.
It will be Cheetahmen AND Cheetahmen II.
Remember how these guys wanted to make Cheetahmen a Cash-Cow Franchise much akin to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Battletoads? I bet Rolfe is going to show us the comic that came with Action52, the way that they advetised Cheetahmen figurines and Animated Adaptation on the back of the covers. And how the only saving grace is the music. Which gets annoying on the 60'th Loop.
I can't believe I still have that shit. Hell I even have one of those limited edition 1,500 carts with Cheetahmen II. It's only for collection valuse because these things are extremely rare. Though I rememeber those horrible, horrible games.

I'm having to learn to pay the priceAwwwwwwww, why did my potholes on the Action 52 page get removed? Couldn't we at least put the ones that fit (which was most of them) back on there?
Am I crazy, or did a very small few of those games actually look kinda good? Like that Streamers thing or Timewarp.
Argh, I just had to check out his site, only to learn that new angry videos are only once a month now, and the last video came out early by accident, so we've got to wait until June for the next part.
But you may be right Indigo Dingo, Streemerz at least appears cleverly designed to take advantage of the shoddy game engine:

I'm still hung up on the way he pronounced "OOOOOZE", like the game made him want to vomit. And it probably did.
They assed first. I am only retaliating in an ass way. -The Dead Man's LifeTime Warp Tickers actually looks kind of fun, if a bit incomplete. It has the second-best music on Action52, and the "Fifties meets Salvador Dali" aesthetic is neat.

Anyone here see the latest Board James?
MR. BUCKET WANTS YOUR BALLS IN HIS MOUTH!
@ Kerrah: that sentance is amazingly funny with your current avatar.
On topic: Which review is your favorite? I like the Super Mario Bro.s 3 one
The original Bible Games.
Plumbers Dont Wear Ties. If I had to choose a more standard NES-game review, probably Bible Games or Action 52.

I discovered AVGN about a year ago and I still have no idea why his gratuitous cursing and outrageous flips outs amuse me so.
G'day<— Cheetahmen!
Funny review.

Now this one was a Nerd episode worth discussing. To me, it really sums up the struggle Rolph must have between being an "Entertainer" (swearing, making up nonsense words, and having the Nerd battle special effects) and "Reviewer" (give an informative idea about how a game plays, what its flaws are, areas where its strengths are (if he's reviewing such a game, like when he reviewing Street Fighter 2010, said he liked the art direction of the game, and said that if it wasn't frustratingly hard he'd call it an underrated classic), and where a game could improve (this usually involves a cutaway comparison to a successful game that got the formula right, like Zelda, or Mario, to name the two ones that probably come up the most). Admittedly, I don't follow the comments of the Nerd's fan base, but based on what I've read on this site's page on AVGN, people seem to complain both when the videos are too gimmicky, AND complain if they're too "boring".
Now that's where the problem with this episode comes in. It seemed like the gimmick, and the actual "review" (in quotes because he wasn't really reviewing a single game in this video) were at direct blows with each other. On the one hand, I really enjoyed him address the various glitches that could be found in classic games (and seeing him bring up Twilight Princess was an unexpected surprise), and seeing him blow in the cartridges and get out the various cleaning tools probably brought back memories for pretty much anyone who grew up with an NES. That being sad, I really didn't enjoy the gremlin. I hate to say this, because I love the Nerd and I don't enjoy the person I'm about to compare him to, but it really felt like something the Irate Gamer would put in his video. Regardless, I still enjoyed the video, and I'm very pleased he decided to tackle something different this time around, as I sometimes wish he would do more reviews that are other things than bad licensed games.
At first I hated the gremlin, but once AVGN actually got into talking about interesting glitches rather than just "oh no the graphics are screwed up", I started growing a bit more fond of him. My main worry was that he was going to spend an entire episode with the little gremlin character dealing with those bog-standard graphic glitches - game glitches tend to be pretty interesting, and I would've been disappointed if he hadn't gone over some of the cooler ones. But he did, and so I was pleased.
WHO IS THIS LOSERThe Rocky glitches were quite disturbing.
^ Yeah. I bet that disc was corrupted by Cthulhu.
Deadly Danger Dungeon, a board game James Rolfe made himself. James and crew sure do love re-enacting their childhoods (not the first time, either), and it does feel good to get a retrospective on how silly we were back then.
