I had not been aware of this, but I'm quite excited.
"I can't imagine what Hell will have in store, but I know when I'm there, I won't wander anymore."Lady Gaga claimed as far back as June that She's already finished the album
but isn't planning on releasing it till 2011.
This is, of course, complete horseshit. Because the idea that a gold master could somehow stay in cold storage for 9 months without being leaked on the internet is, in this day and age, preposterous.
Again with the data mining, dear Aunt?Doesn't need to be rock, but Lady Gaga's natural musical inclinations have always gone this way.
Most of the live performances in Monster Ball tend to be more Rock sounding than the studio versions and I can assure you this is not a bad thing.
Also, more evidence that Lady Gaga and rock are like steak and soy sauce:
Normally, I would be dismayed at such a thing, because most political speech from celebrities is sanctimonious brain-dead shrieking done for the purpose of elevating their social standing amongst their peers.
And then I saw this:
What's this? A celebrity talking about a progressive cause in language which makes sense to conservatives. Actually bothering to concede their mindset as being worth understanding and addressing, even though she agrees with it strongly? MADNESS!
And yet, there it is. Like I said, a level of maturity I haven't seen in people twice her age. If the Lyrics to "Born This Way" reflect a similar maturity, it could be a political album that doesn't suck.
Again with the data mining, dear Aunt?@Korg:
... WHAT MAD INSANE UNIVERSE HAVE WE STEPPED INTO? MATURE LIBERAL CELEBRITIES RESPECTFUL OF CONSERVATIVE OPINIONS?
THIS IS MADNESS!
inb4 This! Is! SPARTA!.
This sounds intersting. I got my mother to change her mind about weither or not Gaga has talent by having her listen to "Nothing Else I Can Say". (Though Mom still thinks she's a weird person.) Maybe a rock ballad will sway her the same way "Alejandro" swayed me.
I doubt she'll lose any fans by going political. She's always been outspoken about gay rights. She's got a HUGE LGBT fanbase.
We're going to spread this shit like Nutella.I'm one of the folks that utterly detested everything associated with Lady Gaga, until i fell in love with how utterly friggin ridiculous she is.
I'm looking forward to this album.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.-Squee-
Okay, sorry to let my inner fangirl escape there, but I think it goes without saying, I am very excited!

So, as we know, her third upcoming album has a title now.
But I wonder what it'll sound like. The big rumors right now seem to be that It'll have more political content and Gaga will be going back to her rock 'n roll roots.
Both sound potentially quite awesome. Anyone who has ever looked up "gaga bliix metal remix" on Youtube is aware that Gaga songs work just as well as rock/heavy metal as they do as dance songs. This isn't surprising given that Stephanie Germanotti was originally a Rock and Jazz musician and has said that she and Red One always conceive the songs as rock songs first and then rearrange them as dance numbers later.
Gaga has also been increasingly taking to performing rock renditions of some of her songs in live performances. In particular, Money Honey which is normally a filler song I skip past in "The Fame" takes a turn for the awesome when you hear it live in Monster Ball as a rock song:
(Yes, that is Catgirl!Gaga in the background. Told you I wasn't making it up)
So I wonder how the next album is going to sound. Is it going to be fully rock? Are some tracks going to be rock songs and others dance songs? Or is there going to be a delicious blend of The Power of Rock and Synthesizeritis.
Considering that some of my favourite bands are ones that blend guitars and synths like Rammstein and Ladytron, I'm really hoping Gaga will Take a Third Option.
The potential political content should be interesting, too. Lady Gaga's video addressed to John Mc Cain asking him to abandon his filibuster of the repeal of DADT was impressive. She Showed Her Work by addressing him in language a conservative could understand - emphasising the dedication that gay soldiers had towards their country and the military rather then getting self righteous and sanctimonious. It showed a maturity that celebrities twice her age lack when discussing politics.
If she showed a similar maturity in lyrics, Born This Way could end up being one of the most powerful set of political anthems in decades. That you can dance/headbang to!
