Oh wow. Not only is the greatest possible crossover real, but they they're dueling over a god-damned blonde metafictional witch.
...I refuse to believe this is a coincidence.
It's kind of obvious that Layton and Wright are in cahoots in that trial in the opening of the trailer. Layton accusing her of witchcraft? Sounds like he's deliberately making the argument look silly. I'm wondering if we were witnessing the end of the game.
And no, the game won't be like that. Those are the same cutscene animations you always see in Layton games.
Jonah FalconI love both series so I am stoked for this. I know Capcom has said that it's Japan-only for right now but both series have a surprisingly large fanbase here. If we could get Cross Edge I see no reason why we can't get this.
Oh, and "Professor Layton and the Ace Attorney" is an awesome name.
wow, this looks so cool. o_o i mostly only know Phoenix Wright though, only helped a classmate play Prof. Layton (though i do know the outcomes of the PL storylines, i just know less about the stuff in between). maybe the investigation part is now in the form of puzzles! :D that would be sweet. though the character flip doesn't sound bad at all.
EDIT: Or maybe BOTH styles of gameplay will be in. MORE EDITS: "This time, the riddles have contradictions too." Just a cool tagline, or gameplay Foreshadowing?

Famitsu interview, still in Japanese. But it does have a clear screenshot of Phoenix and Maya eating. That's definitely sandwiches.

THEY'RE NOT EATING RAMEN? RUINED FOREVER.
I really hope I don't need to use the Sarcasm Mode pothole.
The blind man walking off the cliff is not making a leap of faith.
...Shhh. The baby's sleeping. My friends used to say that whenever someone pointed out that whatever they just said doesn't make sense.
...SO. Sam Riegel as Phoenix? Does that make sense for anyone else?
The blind man walking off the cliff is not making a leap of faith.Marketing tactic: game is "Japan-only" but they'll consider international if they get enough comments on their blog. It's always been like that for AA and PL and they always end up doing international, so I wouldn't worry - and the comments are at 80+ pages. Doesn't hurt to show support though!
Plus this game is so awesome that even without English release SOMEONE would patch it.

Phoenix Wright actually sounds very nerdy in my head. Not sure why.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaWhere's the source for this No Export for You stuff. It seems counter-intuitive to not release a crossover of two games with a sizable international fanbase outside Japan.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.I always saw Phoenix as a bit of an Everyman, at least compared to the other characters, so I think he needs a voice that makes him sound fairly normal.
The man was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor and the Nobel Peace Prize. He was the best at both killing and not killing - StrangerLooks like we arent getting this one ladies and gents. Its like Capcom WANTS to not make money.
