First guess: Exactly What It Says on the Tin. Characters who go to parties/clubs a lot.
What it is: A terrible name. Sharing the name with a work is almost secondary.
Party At The Drop Of A Hat? I have heard that phrase used many times.
NVM I misread the trope... Party Extras?

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Party Extras is pretty straightforward.
But just for the sake of trying to come up with something a little more specific to the trope description, what about... Party Strangers? Partying Strangers???
Inexplicable Party Extras would fit better now that I think on it since the trope is about Hammerspace friends.
(Probably mispelled it though)
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!^I like that one.
And "Inexplicable" is spelled correctly.
Hammerspace Friends is another awesome title that strongly needs to be considered for this trope or even a Super-Trope.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I'm thinking that we should broaden it to the supertrope of Hammerspace Friends. Afterall, I can't imagine a split because some examples are at parties and others are at funerals.
It would probably just be easier to broaden this page as the Hammerspace Friends supertrope all on its own. I can't see anything other than funerals and weddings being covered by a page with that name if this one is left to continue on as a subtrope just for general parties.

My first guess was people who party all the time.
Edit: I think Hammerspace Friends is a awesome name.

^Not actually my favorite animal.I too feel Hammerspace Friends is highly tropeable...I don't know if it's a supertrope (more of a lumper I guess) - I think it should be the name, and a party as one example of when they get...unhammerspaced?

Searching for plausible mechanisms. So do we need a crowner or are we all in agreement to expand to Hammerspace Friends?
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Expand to Hammerspace Friends, this is an AWESOME name.
I think we're virtually unanimous for the most part. Hammerspace Friends is a good name.
I agree.
Rhymes with "Protracted."OK so we'll stamp this as the start of the countdown.
Hammerspace Friends as supertrope, definitely. Party Extras and Inexplicable Party Extras could probably work as subtropes.

First, I'd like to invite tropers to play Guess That Trope because I'm really curious to see if anyone can get the exact context the trope is supposed to be referring to from the title.
Second, the trope is sharing a name with a work, which I didn't even realize had its own page at 24 Hour Party People, perhaps mostly in part to nobody ever linking to a ptitle page; the trope page didn't even provide any type of direct to the work page (or even get a non-ptitled Film/ tab) until very recently.
There's, at least, one page that links to the trope when it's talking about the work.
